Biggest Buyer of used 747's..... Boeing.

To help sell the -8's (some stored in the desert), they're buying back older 400's.

So now Boeing will be selling used 747's, to keep the 747-400 assembly line rolling.

Nice to see you can pick up a used 747-400 for $16m, cheaper than a Gulfstream.

Now if I could just find somewhere to park it. :)

57,000 gallon fuel capacity @ $6.00 per gallon of Jet A is $342,000 per fill up. Cost of parking isn't the issue. ;)

Oops... meant 747-8 in the last sentence, not 747-400.

Some of them are actually already 'sold', the airline has just postponed putting them in service.

Others are for sale, almost immediate delivery, instant gratification. Sort of Plug and Play (Paint and fly). (Well, there are the interiors...)

I'd be curious how far they go on a fill up. I've seen the cost for a chartered 747 from PVG to ORD, it's about $600,000.
