This is my first post on F Chat but I've been perusing the information here for months. I started casually researching 360's and F430's about a year ago and am now finally ready to pull the trigger. First off, I'd like to thank all of the members for the invaluable information that I have gained from F Chat. I'm impressed by how tight knit and willing to help the Ferrari community is! The car I am looking to buy is an '05 F430 offered by Exotic Motors Midwest (rosso corsa on cuoio w/ red inserts). I love the color combo, options, and lower mileage, and of course the price! I'm getting a PPI done on it today and am planning on flying to St. Louis to pick her up and drive her back to Atlanta. Does anyone have any info on this car? Vin #: ZFFEW58AX50144033. What should I be nervous about when driving a "new to me" car 600 miles back home? Also, does anyone know any fun back roads between St. Louis and Atlanta? Thanks in advance for all your help!

Welcome. That's a great first Ferrari. If the PPI checks out, I would feel comfortable driving home that distance.
    Good luck!

    Congrats.
I drove my 2005 Red 430 home and will never forget it-only 250 miles but would have done 600 too. Have a great time.

I meant to ask, does the car have a clear bra--if not, you may want to protect from bugs and bring a bottle of quick detailer and a cloth.........

Congrats on the new car! Depending on what part of Atlanta you live in, you may see me around: I just got an 06 red F430 spider. You will see me driving around Buckhead ...
    Enjoy the new car!

Speeding tickets and possible pulled muscles in your face from 600 miles of smiles !

Bring a camera and take notes, I think everyone here enjoys a "fist time" experience story with photos....

Welcome and enjoy the ride home. The PPI should tell you if there's anything to worry about, but they're really solid cars. More you driver her, better she'll treat you. One request; we crave pictures.

Nice car. I love the cuoio interior. I've never seen cuoio with the red inlays, as most times the red inlays are black or tan cars. Enjoy have a fun ride back to Atlanta. Pics show both keys, make sure you get them and both work and start the car.

Make sure cover and bag, flashlight, radio code, car code, radio key tools, all tools, factory charger and case if on the VIN, and all books are present.

My advice: Don't stop home --- just keep on going! :)

It's a great open field runner. You'll love it. Congrats on your purchase. Many miles and many smiles. F430's are one of the most reliable cars they ever made. No worries.

Remember the first rule of Italian driving: "what's behind you is not important". :)

I am getting a clear bra installed before the drive home. I might still consider bringing cleaning agents with me though!

I'm in Buckhead as well so I'll definitely see you around. Do you ever make it up to Caffeine & Octane?

As stated here already, if the car checks out on the PPI I would feel 100% safe driving it 600 miles.
Congrats on your first one and you're going to love it. Best of luck!

Yes, I will be there tomorrow. Look for me with a bunch of other Italian cars, including my friend's green Aventador and my other friend's red Superleggera.
