It's very interesting how the intake grills are influenced from the Miura SV. Were any other 25th characteristics from previous Lamborghini classics?

msgm1, another thing to remember, imo, the photos of the Rosso Perlato C/T I went to see didn't reflect the pics on the website so keep in mind, you want to see current photos of a car before going to see it, make sure they aren't file photos.

From the Miura in general, not just the Miura SV. Here is another example: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142178926-post966.html

Motorcars have always taken in good quality cars. Here is 12660 with the earlier door mirrors substituted. Non-metallic Rosso Siviglia.

After admiring the nonmetallic C/T at Motorcars Int in Joe's previous post and 12479, I can't help but wonder if the 1 of 4 I was told from Motorcars Int referred to the "color combo" and not the metallic finish alone. The car I looked at about 5 years ago at Motorcars Int had the tan with red piping on the interior, very nice looking ride.

I hate hearing about bad experiences. Do you know what the issues were that needed repair, if you don't mind elaborating? How did the car go through a Lambo Dealer and get a positive report?
I hope you are enjoying it now!

Bear in mind that Red/Tan is perhaps the most popular USA 25th livery.

That's typical of the garage queens with low mileage out there... Unfortunately the seller was not forthcoming with its real condition ....best color I've seen for a 25th thus far....

I had a Anniversary car in Rosso Perlato. That color was unbelievable. Basically a red pearl

that would blow you away especially in the sun. Valentino told me that only a few cars were painted in this color as it was a new to Lamborghini 3 step paint process.

Hmmm I'm laughing because he referenced the vents to be testarossa like I did ...lol. And the fact they were over built and flipped double over list price at one point.... Something that I said previously and was passed off as a non truth..... Oh well web marketing at its finest;) anyways.... I like that red Ann color the best... Enough pop as a lambo and slightly deviating from Italian red... Best color I've seen on an Ann thus far

Regarding the strakes on the 25th's brake ducts and air-boxes, as pointed out before, the Testarossa reference is that of most casual observers, understandably so. But if anyone asked Horacio Pagani he will tell you he took a look at the Countach's predecessor, the Miura, for his inspiration: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142483343-post1865.html

Regarding your comment here that your previous comment about the cars being sold in 1990 for double being passed off as a non-truth, that's not accurate. Jeff had suggested that whilst we all know that 25ths sold for $350,000 in 1990, that was not the only basis for the variant's popularity, which was what you clearly suggested. Here is the reaction to what you said: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142476624-post1721.html

By the way, stating that the Countach 25th was sold at high prices when the car was new is simply Preaching to the Choir because everyone knows this. Every other model & variant of Porsche, Ferrari & Lamborghini was also being flipped for double & triple at the time, so the point is redundant as a measure of any car's success, popularity or otherwise.

If you recall, your post prior to that was a direct contradiction to the latter post because in the previous one you suggested that 25ths weren't popular at all! http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142476505-post1719.html

Moving right along, you seem to have a thing about web marketing, as if there is always something underhanded about it. Marketing makes the world go round and this is the age of the web. Get good at it and you'll be successful. Surely, you make a living based on the benefits of marketing, as does practically everybody. Here you list yourself as "self-employed" http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/members/146176.html Well, if that's true, you wont put much food on the table unless you engage in .... marketing, of one kind or another for goods and/or services. The marketing of these cars is a good thing IMO. Providing said marketing also acts as a resource and increases knowledge, awareness & received wisdom.

I agree with you, Rosso Perlato is a nice color!

I am remiss for overlooking this important post Peter! Sorry, too many cars, so little time!

Yes, if the calipers have not been refinished at some point, they should be the gold color you describe.

Here are 12670's, front & rear.

In this overall image you can just about see the gold hue of the calipers.

Its funny how much previously overlooked and ignored detail has come out in this thread. But its good to see that in 8 short months the perception of an entire variant can change so much. Thank goodness for internet marketing!
