A few months ago I bought a 550 and it came with a red satin car cover, but no duffel bag, seat covers, or steering wheel cover. I never really thought the cover fit very well, but since it came with the car I assumed it was original. However, I recently purchased a full set of original covers for the car and the new one fits perfectly, leading me to believe that the one that come with the car is from a different Ferrari.

So is there any way to determine what the cover that came with the car is from? There are a few differences between the covers: The one that came with the car is red with a white lining, the one I bought is red inside and out. The one that came with the car has a Cavallino and Ferrari logo, the correct 550 one has just a Cavallino on the cover (but "Ferrari" on the duffel bag).

Here are some pics. You can tell which one fits and which one doesn't.

The Andrea looks like it was for a mid-engined V8 - there are various versions as to who makes the true OEM covers but I'm fairly sure 550/575 era were all Brandart

That 1st looks to fit pretty poorly. But I will tell you that if the satin cover gets haphazardly washed, or even unprofessionally cleaned that it will shrink & then fit like socks on a rooster.

Sorta what your 1st one looks like.

Good point, though as filthy as this thing is I doubt it's ever been washed! :)

Well, I test-fit it on a friend's 355 and it's obviously not for that car, either. It was really loose and actually touching the ground in the front. So I'm guessing it's either a shrunken 550 cover or maybe for yet another car. Is there anything midway between a 355 and 550 in size? TR maybe?

A 456 is longer than a 550, if I am not mistaken. It's a mystery what this cover was for.
