It's okay - McLaren has a talented team to put them back together. And then he goes and drives it in the rain again. ...in fact the morning he collected it from the factory after its repairs were complete it was raining. Probably has more miles in the rain than any other F1 by a big stretch. >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login
If Rowan gets a P1 and Nick Mason a LaFerrari, they will probably lend them to top gear as they did for the F1 and Enzo. With 918 918s no big problems there, so we'll probably have some unofficial lap times pretty soon. I say next year. Although top gear is too Anglophile...

LaFerrari seems to be a bit lower at the roofline than the Pagani. Too bad the two didn't ride together for a stretch. THAT would have been some interesting video.
Looking at about the 1:17 mark in that video it looks like his line of sight is through the steering wheel and he has to tilt his head up. I'm guessing a taller person would fair better but too tall and you wouldn't fit. At 6' 7" I'm way too tall to sit in a supercar so I don't know what the view is like. Do they normally have some degree of an obstructed view?
Its acceleration is awesome. However, I think the P1will walk it through those corners. I believe the only thing this car has on the p1 is that sound. It really is... sweet!
Actually when you think about it from his perspective, it's probably a chore and undoubtably a slow thing compared to what he would rather be driving. I mean why would he give a rats about it? ... he's at Ferrari to win F1 races, not develop their road cars. Pete
So you are a human V-Box!!! I'd love to have you as my co-pilot. On a more serious note, Alonso was just having some fun. The good thing is that the LaFerrari has no understeer whatsoever. Also, he didn't even approach the rev limiter; he had some power in reserve. This was a mule by the way, not the finished article.
All cars will understeer if the driver is an idiot. Yes I watched the video, I'd say Alonso knows how to drive and lifted at the right moment to get the tail to come around hence the opposite lock required as they turned in to the corner. Pete
You can force a car to understeer but Ferraris in particular are set up neutral to oversteery. The rear end will go first most of the times either under throttle or braking.
