    Different beast

Huayra is more "everyday" not as extreme nor as technologically developed

It is also more expensive, doesn't exactly go up in value.... Why not buy LaFerrari (if you can) and put the spare change towards a used Zonda?

Not really. Huayra's price was increased by 25% in March, so it now costs over £1 million.

The LaFerrari also costs more than 1 million quid.

    Going into what?

Have the two cars ever been on the same corners at speed? Are you comparing corners at Fiorano (where we usually see LF) to corners at Goodwood or anywhere else we have seen P1? Do we have any idea how much effort Alonso was putting into the demonstration laps we saw? Was LaFerrari even near its limits? Was P1 doing the very best it can in the videos you have seen?

Until the two cars demonstrate their capability on the same circuit with the expressed goal of one besting the other we who sit on the outside looking in won't know a thing.

Totally agree with you, although I have to say that I agree that the P1 looked faster in the corners. But we can't conclude that after just one movie.

Pagani Cars has been going up in value, Huayra included. And the Huayra should go up even more in years to come.

We have seen the P1 on at least 3 different tracks already and based on what I have seen, the way the P1 behaves when driven hard, it seems to roll a lot less than the Ferrari and dip way less under braking as well. We don't yet know if that is the final spec for the suspension on the Ferrari but based on what we have seen, it is more than enough to tell that as of right now, the P 1 looks like the fastest. It just looks better setup for some serious speed. Tis all I was saying.

You're right about the McLaren, but we've seen not enough from the LaFerrari. However, the movie of the LaFerrari was a bit shocking to me because it was looking less fast as expected.

P1 in race mode has that huge rear wing and lowered ride height. It's tough to compete with that. RD is pretty obsessed with beating Ferrari and it looks like they've gone all out for track performance. I'd be surprised if LaF, or any other hypercar for that matter, comes near it 'round a track.

So we know 599XX has a time of just under 7 minutes at the ring. We also know it's done a 1:15 at Fiorano. Actually I think that's an Evo so let's add say 1.5 seconds for standard XX. So LaF has to be achieving somewhere near or below 1:17 at Fiorano to be under 7 at the ring. I know, I know you can't compare like that and all the usual caveats apply but it should be okay as a rough guide and there's not much else to go on.

To think all the money spent on telemetry that race teams could save if they just learn to study YouTube videos a bit better!

The XX cars are on slicks indeed. Not race slicks mind you, track day ones, but still slicks.

Can you tell me the difference between race slicks and track day slicks?

FWIW, the grip, duration, roll on the XX Evo slicks (Pirelli) are similar to those on the 458 GT3 used in the Blancpain Endurance Series and FIA GT series.

I would seriously be interested in learning what you mean.

Well they are not the most aggressive in terms of compound. There are different compounds.
