Really like this car for the money. I been looking for something fun to compliment my 575. I like the side rakes painted the color of the car and the 355 wheels Does anyone know this car at all?
Yeah, I like 355 wheels on the 348 too. Interesting , there's no badging on the back of the car. I thought all but the USA spiders had 348 on them....
Curious as to why... it appears to be a prime example. Granted, the recent "service" doesn't mention cam belts. However, a desirable bonus is that the 89s don't have the mouse motor seatbelts. I did contact the owner to inquire about the "one of a kind" description. He said that it refers to the car's condition only i.e. nothing special about this particular 348.
The problem with that is that this is subjective. It may seem pristine to him, but perhaps not so to someone else.
True, but I'm still curious as to why captglen said it's only worth 30k. As described and presented, I can't imagine this car selling for that low. However, the bid is over $38k right now... Personally, I would need to see the car first. I'm in the market for a 348 and am trying to get educated on their values. I figured mid 30s for this one.
The USA 348 Spiders had badging upto a point. Then, apparently, the supplier ran out and Ferrari omitted the badging thereafter.
I didn't realize the early USA spiders had them. I believe my car to be an early spider. Maybe it's not. It is a 94 with the engine front lid painted black. I also didn't realize the SS's didn't have them. I bought a badge awhile ago but haven't put it on.... I don't know the 348 market, but I do like the looks of that car. Guessing it will get around 40K.
38k for that car is low due to the low mileage. Ebay practically never gets what any car is really worth. The statement it is a 30k car is wrong and that's now proven. Weird ad though. Says its a GTS which it is not. Says its Guards Red, which is a Porsche color. I think this car was formerly owned by fchatter 'GQ Image' as seen here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferrari-discussion-not-model-specific/60619-totally-cool-ferrari-engine-lid-custom.html Look at the engine lid pic in the ebay ad. I think it is a GTS but with a body color roof panel - I could just make out the shut lines on either side of the targa panel.
Interesting car. An '89 for $37,500 is pretty good. The car was in great shape and had the preferable (to me) 355 wheels. Still, this is an early car - no mice but less performance and more reliability issues. I'd talk to Bastage about his SS. That's a better investment.
Correct this was my car. Just got back from vacation. Wife gets pissed if I bring a laptop or IPad on vacation. If a F Chat member is interested in the car, please PM me for the good and the bad. I traded the car in at Lamborghini of Dallas. I was given a premium for the car, and got super deal on a 360 Spider. The deal was so good, I traded 360 Spider after 30 days of ownership, for a 430 Spider.
