    Figure slightly less output for the 4.5 L Ferrari V8 vs. 4.6L. If you ratio it: ... 4.5/4.6 x 608 = 595 hp.

But the Porsche is hybrid, so they can tune the petrol engine just for high revs, as the electric motor covers the lack of torque at low revs.

True Scud prices fell quickly, partially due to a bad economy.
However the 16M seems to be holding, I tried to wait for the prices to fall to 200k but haven't in 4 years.
I am sure the 458 Scud 17M will be a worthy machine.

As others have said, the sensation of exhilaration is amplified with the top down. I'm a track guy, but with Ferrari's I love the top down.
    Will a 17M be released in 2015?
    Hope so

17M?? don't they have to win another constructor's championship to claim 17?
pipe dream, unlikely they'll even get second place
the 16m was launched to celebrate the 16th title
how lame it would be to launch a 458 scud 16M, getting stuck with 16?

We all know that, we usually just use the term "17M" for the successor to the 16M.

Of course they won't use the name 16M again, it would just be a Scuderia Spider, or Aperta or whatever they want to call a convertible.

I hope the front bumper is more aggressive than the OEM 458. Like the scud is to the 430

Too tame - seriously that's so unoriginal! Do you really think Ferrari will graft a 5 year old Scud look onto the 458 lightweight?

I am told this car will have a wider rear track and possible vents on the front bonnet - which will probably make it look a lot more like this - probably without the rear wing and hopefully without the ugly NACA duct on the rear fenders.

Just like the Scud totally re-wrote the look of the 430 - expect this to do the same. The berlinettas/spiders have to sell around 15,000 so they aren't too agressive so as to appeal to a wider audience. With a small volume run-out, Ferrari knows its customers and can go to town.

My guess is that the nose will look a lot more like LaFerrari than the old Scud.
