"I never found out what started the blaze but the owner didn't look too concerned, in fact he was almost laughing at the situation!!! owner must be an a-- hole.
Looks like a spider. I've seen 2 of these almost go up in flames when the hydraulics failed and sprayed hot fluid on the motor/exhaust. In both of those cases others nearby had a fire extinguisher handy. Guess that didn't happen in this case.
It happened a few years ago at Toys for Tots Run at the Hard Rock parking lot. I believe Martin had a fire extinguisher handy and saved the car. A 430 Spider putting his top up after drive over from FMFL.
Yeah that was one. I think the fire extinguisher was Edward's. I saw it again about a year later in Palm Beach. Different car that time but exact same issue.
That "handy fire extinguisher" appears to be a worthwhile option! I could only see pulling your F430 into your garage and it going up in flames, only to burn down your house. Ugh.
Photos of car on fire (sent to me by a friend) and the tow to its final resting place where I saw it heading south on Powerline Rd. You could see the ash blowing off the car and a bad smell of rubber. What a shame.
