All they did with the Enzo was an invitation at Fiorano, where the legendari Dario Benuzzi would show via instruments to the journos that the car really achieves the quoted acceleration numbers and then let them drive a few laps around the track.

as time goes by more and more I realize that I prefer laFerrari with the mirror caps painted red ... those black carbon are mixed with the upright and appear much less bulky and streamers

I think you have to be a current driver to test the new models. Given the launch date of the production LaF keeps drifting off into the distance (i.e. 2014) it looks like they are just making sure...

They fired Phil when I wasn't looking?

I think I would have heard the cheering.

Looks like that spoiler could provide front end lift positioned so far back.

I think ideally you want the spoiler right on top or no further away than the axle, otherwise it produces a negative effect on the other end of the car, even if minor, just like a lever. Especially if it is active.

F1 cars have their front wings in front of the front axle. I think you are being confused.

Many racing car designers thought the same... in the 60s, and later realized that it´s better to put the wings at the front and at the back.

For one thing the air is cleaner.

F1 cars are open wheel racers, for example, and that does not mean that's the most efficient shape. Quite the opposite, in fact. Same for the open cockpit. Sorry, that's not a valid argument.

I guess so. The LaFerrari's rear spoiler looks to me as too far back, though, and not properly counterbalanced by the front's active aero when it's deployed.

I still look at the wing in the front bonnet and see it as if it was first intended as moveable.

The current under-vehicle active aero does not look to me as powerful as the big rear spoiler when open.

Aero is somewhat nonintuitive. What looks right often isn't.

True, if I had a penny for all the people who wrongly assume the drop is the most aerodynamic shape...
