I heard a rumor that the NART sold last night privately. Is that true or even possible this close to the auction?
Highly unlikely. Remember proceeds are going to charity. If sold privately - the owners will never be sure that the car could not have gone to an even high bidder. I say 95% this rumor is false.
The 500 mile 1990 F40 at Mecum just sold for US$ 1,325,000 hammer to a collector in Orlando/FL. Mecum only charges 7% buyer's premium rather than the typical industry 10%. Marcel Massini
Max Girado of RM replied to me on a tweet I made about the video on you tube of the NART breaking 100,000 views today. He said "one thing for sure... We will break a world record tonight" Read into that what you will.
The GTO is 2 lots away, auction is in progress. Link here: The Pebble Beach Auctions | Gooding & Company
Gee looks like he can sell a consigner F40 for good $. But I guess he has real trouble excepting that the market speaks on the value of his personal auction company owned inventory. Oh well maybe he will catch a sucker next year.
The air scoop intake grill on the blue Lusso at Gooding is different than most. Original or not correct? I am thinking incorrect.
288 GTO? 1,375,000USD IIRC. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I'm almost sure that was the price.
