    I love it! Looks better than the LaF, Edgy and contemporary. Makes Sls Gallardo 911 and Mp4 look so last year! And finally those wheel arches are rightfully filled with big meaty fatty wheels! Love it!

    I think the visible part of the front active aero is the white bit behind the chrome Cavallino Rampante while the rest of it is more internalized through all of the front air intakes that you can see head on as well as ones integrated into the mostly flat floor from which the best place on a car to generate downforce actually is. Colin Chapman found a way to make the F1 cars of the late 1970s and early 1980s cars produce so much downforce with such little drag comparatively that a bunch of them went as far as to forgo using wings and just sticking with the skirts and ground effect floor. Obviously things like this are banned in just about every racing series today but theres nothing to stop the development of their use on street cars.

    Just look at the McLaren MP4B from 1982, it ran without a front wing a bunch of times because of how amazing the ground effect really was.

    So disappointing with those looks. The base car is no beauty and I had high hopes they could fix the poorly designed elements like front, lights, lack of anything on the sides. Sans the rear of this new Scud, damn, just disappointed.

    While I agree with you about the 458S, I continue to admire Ferrari's risk taking in their designs. Unlike other manufacturerers whose designs are always derivative, Ferrari will suprise you. It doesn't always work, but when it does we are given a masterpiece. Such a car is the 458. Stylingwise it is very hard to make better and easy to make worse. Certainly the improved performance will be an attraction to buyers as well as those who simply love to have the latest model. My own interests lie elsewhere as I can achieve the horsepower of the 458S with aftermarket mods to improve breathing, if not the weight loss.

    As much as I am ready to fall in love with The Special, I know that it is ultimately a warm-up for the car that will replace the 458 line altogether.

    Just as the amazing 430 Scuderia was eclipsed by 458, the unknown car on the horizon will be the real game changer and will set the new paradigm for Ferrari V8's.

    The Speciale is just a teaser....

    i know personal opinions are...well exactly that, but i'm quite surprised at the amount of people 'not feeling' this car - it is SUCH a radical makeover from the standard car - it makes the leap from the 430 to 430-Scud look pretty tame! I'm in the camp thinking this car is fantastic and I can't wait to see more images and visit the car at Frankfurt!! I do agree however- that the official photos of cars in general these days feel over-processed and actually - real life photos are the best!

    Love this so far - congratulations Ferrari!

    I completely agree. Having seen her by person even if just for 2-3 minutes and even if I was not too close...(I posted the pics so I know what I say) I can confirm that the feeling is simply excellent.Be patient. Many of you will simply change the opinion very soon..

    Played about with the ONLY area on the entire car I have any issue with. The front intake. And even then its a small quibble.....

    I'm sure I totally disabled the aero in the nose with this change though....

    the only problem with this car, like so many others these days, is that you cant really drive it anywhere except the track. i would not even bother registering it. just truck it to the tracks.

    Fair point. The only problem I have with all the new cars you are breaking the speed limit in second gear if you drive the even a little aggressively. I have that problem with my 2011 Porsche GT3RS.

    But its still lots of fun on street in a very controlled environment, and of course, the track.

    thats almost impossible anymore around here. 30 miles over the limit is an automatic 1 year jail sentence.

    so, if you cannot drive it on the street, and only really on track, then just get a used 430 gt, costs a lot less, and its faster.

    for this kind of money on a street car, i am going only vintage now. cant go fast so might as well go in some cool style !

    Dont want to get into a back and forth but the new Quattraporte looks so generic and the Ghibli is just a smaller version of the same (although the proportions and design works much better). Where is the flair?
    I guess design is very subjective, and the two design houses (Ferrari and Maserati) need more time to mature.

    Around here you really need some sort of Cayenne/RangeRover/X5 type vehicle to pound around town... then you have your track car that maybe you take on the streets for a special occasion.

    Can we imagine the "active aerodinamic front section" in this way? this could even justify that particular bonnet (as if would be necessary to split in two the aerodynamic flow).
    And that particular bonnet probably needed to be painted in that way as a conseguence, to reduce his visual impact..Who knows..
    So the two little doors, if they are "opening doors", will still allow to attach the license plate?so many questions:)

    I'm trying to find a difference but can't find any. Same headlights for me. The triangular vents in the inner side are bigger, though. Maybe that confused you?
