Isn't this what keeps Ferrari in business? They continually up the ante and those who must have the latest will trade in their spiders and get the Speciale, which will be replaced by the spider version of the Speciale next year. Then the 458 replacement coupe will come out in 2015 and the cycle will repeat again. So, those of you who aren't feeling this car rejoice! In two years there will be an entirely new car to critique.

Where the front tow eyelet is perhaps? I have never had a front plate on any of my exotics...ever.

Who wants to bet the next update will be called 458 Spider Speciale or 458SS... They need to fire who ever is naming these cars.

Yup I fully agree with ya. No doubt there's a performance improvement, but I'm sure the price far out ways those benefits. Looks wise it just it's just another 458 with a body kit (I do like the interior though)

The changes and modifications do not integrate well with the original design. I always believed that Ferrari would struggle to improve on the 458 Italia and today my fears were confirmed. The front and rear bumpers are absolutely hideous and the new positioning of the front and rear badges make them look like an afterthought. The shape of the rear grille is awkward. The stripe is ugly, oversized and tasteless. The wheels are boring. The name 'Speciale' isn't very imaginative, it's just plain lazy.

What a mess. I fell in love with the Challenge Stradale and 430 Scuderia designs but the 458 Speciale is an abomination. Ferrari butchered a beautiful car.

You have a very valid point.

What is your take on the Challenge Stradale, in terms of accessible street performance?

Couldn't agree more...plain design. Far better sedans than this.

Here's my master and last side-by-side comparison of FRONT, QUARTER and SIDE angles from CS-Scuderia-Specialé.

I still love me some Scuderia butt...the lines, proportions, symmetry of the diffuser and just overall design is perfect. And most of all, it doesn't remind me of some american muscle car / vette / camaro.

    Enjoy:

I'm confused. I really don't know what to say. Still believe that Scuderia is the best choice. I will have to wait to see what are the potentials of the car.

Thanks for posting - IMO the best overall is the 360 CS.
The scud has the best nose and the Speciale the best rear end
Love the upper and lower challange grills on the speciale

Same story every time a new Ferrari comes out. A lot of critique on the shape just from the pictures. Then people start to appreciate the design when they see it in the metal. Finally, everyone is in awe when the performance tests come out and would kill to get one. Kind of funny really!

PS: Which big and mid sized limos are better looking than the Quattroporte and the Ghibli respectively?

yes but they would need to arrive at around 650 hp to have a similar weight/hp ratio
