Lightest Italia vs lightest Speciale = 90 kg.
Best semis are the Trofeos R IMHO.
    Cheers.

+1 couldn't agree more. I notice myself agreeing with a lot you say. The Ghibli is so well proportioned are beautiful in my eyes.

Aside from the obvious performance, which really can only be fully utilized on a track, I'm not very excited about the overall look of the car. The front is not attractive at all and those side fins forward of the rear wheels are downright ugly, irrespective of any function. The rear of the car is the best aspect of the new design but the more I study it it lacks smoothness and looks heavy. The stripe offers no compliment to the hood design and although I love the idea of a striped Scud this car may actually look better sans stripe. I cannot recall feeling so,little excitement over a Ferrari unveiling. My 16M just insured itself a longer stay with me.

That's Spe-tsia-le for you and me sir. ;)

PS: What about an "Aston DB Special". Does it sound bad? I think not...

    Loving these comparisons. Thanks.

Would love to see this matrix of pics...

    360 | CS
    430 | Scuderia
    458 | Speciale

... in order to see how the faces have evolved from std spec to race inspired.

On a separate note, any word on whether they plan to limit the run on these cars like they did with the CS/16M; or will they build as many as they can sell?

I for one can't wait to see it in the flesh and see some interesting specs. I know its Fchat but history shows some of us threw stones at the Italia, Scuderia, F430, etc, etc, etc and now are our favortie F Cars!

As if anyone of us here could lap Fiorano in anywhere close to these times. These times are for a pro driver with zero mistakes. A 1.5 second improvement over the F430 Scuderia is huge at the finish line.

    I guess you can't simply slap on a 458 Special grille to a 458.

From all the light weighted models, 430 Scud is my absolute fav. That design will be hard to beat. F nail it.

Funny it's my least favorite. I don't think it's better looking than the stock F430. The CS looks better than the rather bland 360 coupe.

This one DOES look better than the base car. That's why it's my favorite because the 458 is already one of the better looking F cars in some time.

But, everyone has their own thing. :)

However, I do like the 16m. Go figure.

I bet this thing sounds like a beast at 9 grand. The exhaust is completely different.

IMO that will be the most exciting aspect of the 458 Speciale

The more I look at it, some lines do look a little off. The exhaust sound on the short teaser video is wonderful. I'm still on board!

I spoke with my friendly dealer today. He said that ferrari didn't send them a memo or give them any notice/info before this release. Same as always with them!

I bet you're right about this.

What I've found about car dealers in general (all kinds of dealers) is that the information from the head office and PR machine rarely gets passed down to the salesman level.

I still know waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more about the Alfa 4c than any dealer I've talked to. Many don't even know much about the Alfa brand in general or that its coming to Fiat dealers.

A guy on the Corvette forum went to his Chevy dealer yesterday asking if he could buy a new C7. The salesman said "sure, I have one right here". Problem was, it was last year's model. He had no clue there was a new one going into production any day.

I happned to drop off some stuff at our dealer this morning just after the official infomation came out. One of the sales guys was focused on his laptop looking at the Speciale for the first time.

I wouldn't have believed it unless I saw it with my own eyes.
