Talk about lines that have aged exceptionaly well...38 years old and looking drop dead gorgeous, as sexy as ever, the little "pocket rocket"...that man Leonardo Fioravanti knew what he was doing.

I just picked up my baby after about five weeks with Mr. Fiberglass / Detail man. He had just finished doing the same thing on another glass car here in Scottsdale; so why not do mine? I figured where am I going to find a Glassman who has actually worked on one of these things? Turned out better than I thought it would. Had a few of the stress areas repaired and a very light sanding. A few coats of lacquer does wonders on these cars. :)

That looks really nice, and welcome!!

That said, for a Silver membership here you can put the ad in FerrariAds, and start a thread discussing it's merits.

Ads in posts are frowned upon an may be deleted which would be a shame, that looks a very nice example, original single tip rear valence Euro version!!

    How much??? :D :D :D

The latest work on the Vetro was to reset the geometry, and a good job we did as it was way out.
Although new to the car I wasn't happy with the way it changed direction, it felt nervous and didn't
    exactly inspire confidence.

Turned out that it had large amounts of unequal toe in, 4mm and 5mm at the front and 3.5mm on
one rear and 1mm on the other, so no wonder it felt weird.

Now set to an equal 1.5mm all round with -0.25° camber at the front and -1.25° at the rear the car
is transformed, fantastic feel to it now as it just goes where you point it and stays flat in the turns,
    really great fun!

Took the opportunity while under the front to align the steering wheel to dead centre as well, makes
    all the difference.

Seems like a good excuse to post some wheel pictures, the car has the original option 7½ x 14"s
    with the Michelin XWX tyres.

Thanks for that, appreciate it! I see you started the Vetroresina thread so well done for that, I'm doing my best to keep it
going. Surprised not more Vetro owners contributing, but then again there are so few of us.....

    Here's another wheel picture!

Saw the car when it was on the block at RM Auctions in Scottsdale in 2011. Sold for $63,250. Looks like the new owner spent some bucks on getting it to 99%. Good for them and glad that the car is out and about. :)

Mike, I'm intrigued to know if your wheels have ever been refurbished?

The wheels on my Vetroresina are unrestored and some of the original silver paint has worn through to the primer from years of polishing.

I was told to never get them restored, though, as it's impossible to have the 'Ferrari', 'Campagnolo' and '6-1/2 x 14' (on my car) script replaced but seeing your pristine wheels, I'm wondering if that's really the case? Anyone know?

    I agree,yes it's the case.

Mine are also original, once you paint them you can't get that Ferrari writing back.
I have to take a pic of mine to show you, but my mechanic told me to leave it alone.

I have to figure, a mechanic not willing to repaint them and make money must know something. He told me never paint them either.

Hi Harry, my wheels have definitely been refurbed at some stage in the past, and the Ferrari, Campagnolo and wheel size
script are actually stickers which have been applied and then lacquered over. I'm just about to have them done again,
as I have painters who will redo the wording using masking and airbrush paint, they can even introduce patina.....

The difficult part is prepping the wheels as they are magnesium, after careful stripping they need thorough priming and
flatting to get them smooth, the actual artwork is the easy bit. As you can see from their work on the RSR which is all in
paint, they're well used to small detail!

Pictures here show pulling off the masking after the paints gone on.

Well there you go! Could you PM me their details please? Thanks.

My 308 is entered in the Salon Prive Concours event that runs 4-6th September and I've been debating whether I should have the wheels re-furbed. But I love my car for its utter originality, even the number plates are the exact ones the car was supplied with back in 1976.

I'll be very interested to see what the judges make of it but the patchy paint on the wheels does annoy me. I love the way the chrome on the 'horse' emblem has worn through from endless polishing, though..
