New 2014 Stingray

It's a goofy ass looking car with a Camaro butt glued on and---as a C5 owner--it hard to like.

 

If you have not seen it in person you maybe surprised .. I do not like it in the pictures but have now had 3 different events since jan where I was able to see the car in person and it really does not look like a camaro rear end .. IMHO...
They will be at the dealer next month they are now building the reg production cars...

 

It bears zero resemblance to the Camaro

 

Exactly, I saw the first one in BH today, by the way it's great that some of these guys don't like it, easier for some of us to get one.

What engine plant? The high performance engines will now be built at Bowling Green and this will be the site for owners that buy the optional engine build experience.

The engines are built in the Tonawanda plant in NY, near Buffalo.

By all accounts these cars are going to be great.

Amazing to think that after the initial rush you'll probably be able to get a new no-option one for under $50K!

Are there engine plant tours available?

 

I think they stopped the customer engine build program with the last engine. The chief Corvette engineer built the last one. That car is in the museum now.

The Lt1 is a new engine. The plant in Buffalo I don't think has tours but it may.

I'm not sure about Bowling green. I'm getting museum delivery and that comes with a plant tour but you can't take photos. I'm assuming anyone can get this tour for a fee but I don't know -- maybe it's only owners.

Are you talking about the 460hp motor or do you have insights on a more powerful motor that will be offered soon?

Those pictures posted are great. I am so glad I ordered one. GM did a great job on the design.

THey are moving the engine plant to bowling green and will start the engine build experience again not sure when. ALso there is a package available with or without the museum delivery where you can get a photo album with the car must of course be ordered with the car. (or before the build. THe museum deliveries will start shortly I think they said in september or october... THe museum takes the picture . you can even go down and be the first to start your own car after watching it being built... THey plan eight deliveries per day 7 days a week till they catch up...

 

THey have brushed alum wheel as std and then if you get the z51 the black wheels are included. ALso with the color shown in 3lt package the seats are heated and cooled (nice) also they are available in all leather or a suede insert (get the leather) it is an upgraded leather and looks and feels very nice. the suede I did not care for .. The color shown reminded me of coiuo so it looked good.
I did not really care for the exterior color but many people did. I liked the silver with red and the red/red the best (just my opinion.) both with the black wheels.

 

I'm not usually a fan of chrome on modern cars but I think they look sharp here. Great paint color too

 

the next level up C7 is even MORE aggressive/in your face than the "base" car
subtle it's not

 

I don't like the way the rear window looks.

 

I respectfully disagree. I think it's darned interesting.
