I'm stoked! This will be my first 911. I really enjoyed driving it and found it to be a bit more charming than the modern 911s I have had some experience with.

The car has an impressive stack of records and a lot of pretty new items, including the steering rack, tires, clutch, brakes, shocks, etc. it has been well maintained, and the compression is even across the cylinders. Leakdown is quite acceptable, too. I'll get some pics up after I pick it up Monday. Black/black '95 C2.

    Yippie!

I'm jealous and I haven't even seen pics of your car yet. :)

Please keep us updated on this 911 ownership experience.
Getting a 911 is on my bucket list but haven't owned one yet.

Thanks guys! I've always loved 993s, so I'm really glad to have found what I think is a great example. Hopefully, this car will fulfill my fantasy of driving a 911 for half a million miles or so. Can't wait to get out and have some rear engined fun!

I have a 993 and they're amazing! I am lurking until I find a 360 but wanted to drop by this thread.

Congrats! 993s are great. I had an opportunity to drive my buddy's '95, felt much more solid than my wife's 996.2 C4.

    Enjoy!

    Congratulations!

    I have a '96 black/black C4S that I love.

A 993 is the best of both worlds. It's a real 911 and feels old school, but the big bloated (albeit faster) machines that 911s have evolved into. But they're modern enough to be very, very usable.

I highly recommend these mufflers: FD Motorsports » Fister Exhaust ? 993 Stage II and recommend against the RSR ones. It won't sound like a Ferrari, but you can get some better sound from the back.

You have to love the sound of the doors closing! That's a real 911!

Or even better, the PelicanParts.com forums.

The first post... "more charming than the modern 911s"... had me laughing... I consider a 993 'modern'... compared to my '78 SC Targa. ha.

    It certainly is.

But neither one has much in common, outside of the badge, with the 996, 997 or 991.

Mine is the other way round, Ferrari on my bucket list! Almost got to the stage of making an enquiry into part exchanging my 993RS for Challenge Stradale but glad I didn't - it is now worth more than the latter with comparable miles and will continue to appreciate. Looks like I'll need to get the F355 to keep the RS.

Welcome to the club! a 993 is one of the most perfect "Modern Day Classics!" They are great driving cars and solid investments.

I have to say, I'm loving this car!! Wow, what a delightful experience! It's such a nice contrast to the Ferrari and 944 (for sale) and certainly a much better daily than my '06 Ford E150 :)

The air cooled growl is certainly addictive and I just love the overall feel of the car. It still has a lot of that classic rear weight feel, but with a much more predictable demeanor...and damn does it look right! I had always hoped to own a 993, and it is not disappointing me so far! Such a great mix of old and new. Just perfect. I can see why they are so highly regarded and sought after. I like 996's for what they are, but there really is NO comparison.

Anyway, thanks for all the congrats! Glad to be in the 911 club!

You sir own a true dream car! Don't sell that thing. A 355 and a 993RS would be quite the duo!

I'm on both and Pelican is better for 911/930 discussions. Rennlist has a much more active 964/993 and water cooled community.
