Mondial Options when new, anyone know what was offered and how much the options ran?

I just watched a video of adding options to your new Ferrari that runs over £100,000.
    Is this insane or what?

I thought they mostly just came as they did. A leather dash is the only option I've heard of, and of course the radio was a dealer installed item. Maybe headliner material in the coupes. I'm sure with the right money a person could have asked for anything from the factory but I think a standard options list was short.

From what I've read everywhere, the options were a leather top dash and leather headlining, also a sunroof for the coupes. That's it, no other options. The stereo was standard then dropped from the 348 line up.
There was a choice however for the leather colour. For example my blue Sera Mondial was initially ordered with a blue leather interior and was then changed to cream with the top dash in blue which was then changed to a black top dash. I have the original factory order sheet with purchase price etc, great history spec.

    Thanks.

I believe that the 16" wheels were an option on the 3.2 while the TRX were still offered. My owner's manual lists both combos.

And on the "t", a EURO ONLY dealer option, was the 17" Speedline Mistral wheel in place of standard factory 16" wheels.

    Cheers, Hank

My '90 T Coupe came with a Pioneer radio and an alarm. I selected every single option available in France at the time:

    - Power sun roof, $1,380 (at the May 1990 exchange rate)
    - Leather dash, $1,020
    - Leather rear window area, $630

Total price (tax free) for the T was $75,435, again at the 1990 rate. Corrected for inflation, that's about $135,000 today(*).

I was not offered 17" Speedline Mistrals most unfortunately.

(*) Assuming my car is worth about $35,000 now, that's a paltry $12 a day over the last 23 years of ownership. ;-)

I've seen a large storage compartment in the top of the dash.
Also, we can't forget the Valeo Clutch System at $3200. :)

hahaha, I posted the same time you did Dave, how funny!
If you wanted an automatic Mondial, the Valeo was the closest Ferrari offered at the time, I suppose its an option in a sense that it had to be ordered from the factory with the system in place and was not a retrofit.

I think the tonneau cover must have came with the Mondial 3.2/T, its referenced in the owners manual of my 1988 3.2.
Sadly, these covers get lost or stolen as the car switches hands.

I know in 1986 the 16 inch wheels became available I believe they were offered as an option over the Trx's.

On some 3.2's there is a panel with leds in it which indicate certain things, it is next to the gear stick, my 3.2 does not have this, it has a coin tray instead so I assume this must be an option.

Actually its not an option, 1988 Mondials do not have that mission control console found only on the 1983 QV thru 1987 3.2.
By 1989, its the T redesign so the cabin is totally different as you know.

In fact all NON abs Mondials have the led panel. All abs models don't have it.

That's an easy way to tell and so far it's been consistent on every one I have ever seen.

    But then again ...

Hi Peter, does your 87 have that center led console and does your car have the optional ABS braking which came as standard equip for all 88 3.2s.
That would be interesting to note if Ferrari changed the led consoled on 3.2 based on abs or not.

    Hi Mike,

Mine is non abs and has the center LED panel. its a 1987 3.2 UK spec.

From what I understand the LED panel only appeared on non abs cars. Thats purely from my research and observations. I wish i never had it, its like a Christmas tree sometimes, the LEDs flash whenever you go over bumps etc:)

    Cheers.
