Yes I think all three sections move as one. Not sure if the white part near the front badge is also part of the active aero.
The new angle of these pics, shows a better rear in my opinion..not? and sorry but I find it very well designed and aggressive in the meantime. And look at her without stripes Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have always maintained that it was only a matter of time ... she conquers me more and more ... even if it was love at first sight ..The front is much more appealing and sculpted compared to a normal 458 and the back is much less flat than it showed the official photos ... thanks for sharing
The 458 is elegant and sophisticated...The 458 Speciale is the guy twenties, wild and impetuous Different characters, different souls, different faces ...
The angle is not the same but gives an idea. If someone has a better pic..pls post it for a better comparison: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Alright folks, just back from today's viewing. Quite impressed and am now converted and convinced. Not just merely an exercise to shed a few lbs and a engine remap. Quite a bit of innovation incorporated. No photography allowed and cameras on all phones were taped up. Active aero in front and back. Front driven by air pressure, and rear by actuators above 220kmh. That's the red flap/reflectors that has been highlighted. New brakes from LaFerrari incorporate air cooling tunnels. Newer gen magnetic suspension, new alloys in engine/piston/pin/conrod, has lightened engine by a significant amount. New wheels, brakes and discs amount to around -13kg unsprung. Exterior aero dynamics really work. Even the small fins on the side look better in person. Bumper has a lot more creases and design elements and makes it look more purposeful. Lower front portion of the front bumper juts outwards and protrudes past the front tip of the bumper. Very good looking side profile. Rear sunglasses grill looks quite nice. And the lip spoiler is aggressive and ties in well. Only thing not sold on are the stripes, and will be spec'ing mine w/o them. Way enough external clues to remind onlookers that it's something different, and don't need the strips (which I think are too wide). Interior is simple and clean. Aside from the strange shape of the passenger front dash padding, other items flow well. No infotainment system, but cabin door panels, and center console. Aluminum floor boards and sills remind you it's something special. Overall, all reservations have been addressed and have been converted. Now just waiting to find out when my alloc is up for prod. prod numbers were indicated to more inline w 360 CS rather than w 430 scuderia - which prob means around 2000 over 2yr production life. Not bad.
funny, imho from this rear pic comparison it would look like the italia is the more powerful version to the uninitiated eye..
+458 in the pics the rear looks like a kit car or an add-on that doesn't quite fit together visually. In other words...a mess.
I'm surprised the car is slower than the F12 Berlinetta. I know it's a V12 but it feels so soft and it's so heavy. This is only half a second behind but still. Not sure if this was posted before but here is the rather quiet sounding Speciale: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLqD_lwP2Co]Ferrari 458 Speciale Spotted in Barcelona Streets! one of those instances when the original is more attractive than the evolution.. i am also sensing that many ppl are 'forcing' themselves to like it and although they are resisting admitting it, feel that the design, of course far from being downright terrible, is by far not an improvement on the original and, most significantly and importantly, imho not up to ferrari's design standards: maybe let Pininfarina take full design reins again to avoid such problems in the future?
Wow, thanks for the wonderful info But is it totally no infotainment? What about Bluetooth features or radio?
Shame on you for making me watch even part of that[/QUOTE] In all fairness, I have no way of knowing what you know already. It's new to me.
