Didn't they widen the car as well? It looks wider especially at the fenders.

Btw fellas, I got confirmation that Pininfarina was only consulted during the early concept / discovery phase and everything after that initial round of consultation was 100% Ferrari in-house.

The in-house team took all the ideas and bits they liked and evolved it into the final product. So, I would hardly say Pininfarina was involved in the final design to be frank, hence probably also why there is no Pininfarina badge anywhere on the car.

You get the feeling that this early interaction allows Ferrari to say publicly that Pininfarina was "consulted." The final product does not suggest much Pf influence... unfortunately so, given the fabulous technology we have learned is embedded in the car. Performance and style are not at odds with each other, as Ferrari itself has demonstrated repeatedly.

The TheFerrari doesn't either. Like the 458S, Pininfarina's involvement with that went as far as consultation during the initial ideation / discovery round, after which the in-house Ferrari team then took all the best bits they liked (including their own) to evolve it into the final product...

The TheFerrari is considered to be the first non-Pininfarina Ferrari design since 1978? Or 81 can't remember, some time around then.

For better or worse, it's undeniably a new generation of design at Maranello.

You can get Pinanfarina badges at the dealer for $125 each (don't ask me how I know ;))

Problem solved. If you are going to live in La La Land, might as well have a Pinanfarina LaFerarri or a La458S? :D

I assume the question you asked was how much to add to the dry weight to get curb weight. Thus curb weight could be 1390 kg without C/F = 3060 lb.[/QUOTE]

Yes ..this was the question..I confirm.

The badges aren't the point but if they do it for you, all the power to you. I for one will miss the beauty / less-is-more that was Pininfarina.

Actually the car has even not the badge "458 Speciale" on the rear. The 430 Scuderia had one on the rear, right side.Probably they will put all them for the German exhibition?

Amazing new info. One would assume that they need to upgrade the engine of tha LaFerrari now in order for that car to have the specific output record as it ought to. Perhaps they are keeping a few aces up their sleeves that will surprise McLaren and Porsche.

They have a small badge on the model by the small wings in front of the rear tires.. I think it's says 458 speciale but could be pinnafirina. It can't make it out.

458 brochure already quotes 'overall gear shifting time has been reduced to near zero' - so we are now getting better than zero - wow.
Anyone know the real figures for 458 and therefore what the 458S will achieve. Porsche claim they have the first DCT to break 100ms in the new GT3!

Yes but 458's dct shift times should be faster than Scud's single clutch system which takes 60 ms (0.060 sec).

So by sayin upshifts are 20% faster, they should be talking about 6-7 ms faster times. I think this is nonsense. More important is how the shifts feel. I think they give more "kick in the back" feel with 458s.

We will see it with the first reviews.

If 10 ms is knocked off each upshift, a lap with 30 upshifts would be faster by 0.3 sec from this improvement alone. I am wondering again about the "mere" 1.5 sec difference between the 458S and 458 at Fiorano.

IMO The difference is greater But they are protecting the F12 market appeal by coming in lower than the F12
