    At 75, don't be tempted to join the locals watching from the trees, they are absolute nutters! Monza is an awesome place. Walk into the circuit throught the royal park, you seem to walk for ages with no sign of the circuit at all, and then all of a sudden you hear the noise through the trees of the engines, and all of a sudden bam, you are at the fences. Look up, and in the trees you start seeing Tifosi in makeshift scaffold made of wood, old ladders, rope, you name it.......

    The traffic jams are ace, proper Italian driving, one way - who cares; two lanes, nah, make it five; grass? Nah, traffic lane; sidewalk?, nah, shortcut!

    Congrats on being able to hear the last of the real F1 engines. I wanted to make it this year, work commitments dictated otherwise.

    Good for you. For me the pilgrimage to Monza was a long awaited dream too as I started following this F1 stuff after watching an Italian GP in TV when I was a kid.

    did the Ferrari F1 club. since I am challenged walking the parking pass was a must. went in late Friday. not good. traffic jam was serious. good viewing right above the start/finish line but on top of the pits. the fed us well. 300 seats for the venue. skipped Sat. as I was beat. left Sunday morning at 6am from Como, hours drive. arrived at 7:30. no traffic. they opened at 9am schedule said 8. for race no one was allowed to stand so we could not see the start. we were not allowed to stand outside so I watched on the screens. a little pissed but I understand. food and drink were the best. Massa came up before the race as well as the principle. a great day until I left. got lost first thing. was a very long day. 5 hour drive back to Como. went on the, 'Car Guy Tour" from there. but that is another story
