Those new bigger Michelin tires require some extra work on the fenders. Carbon brakes with new wheels would be an efficient way to lose a few pounds... Ditching the 4 cylinder run feature would also cut some fat off the front end. CH
The color of that car is crystal red tintcoat; beautiful! Almost like rosso Fiorano The tonawanda engine plant is in my area; my nephew works there. They just celebrated their 75th anniversary and had an open house tour. Very cool; amazing history... I own an original L88 cam; that is (to me) true American automobile muscle history....
That white looks sharp! With the black accents it has that "stormtrooper" look. Speaking of which, taillights kindof shaped like the eyes... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hope it looks better in the flesh than it does in pictures. For those that have seen them up close, are they still plastic thru and thru? Will probably start seeing a lot of Z06s on used car lots soon. Hard to beat the bang for the buck for the truly disposable supercar.
The insides are "honest". That is, they use real materials when they appear to be real materials -- at least on the highest level interior package. Lower ones get vinyl instead of leather. But, no painted plastic dash that simulates aluminum. Complete leather upgrade costs about 4 grand. It's still a bit GM-ish and they do borrow a few things from Camaro. CF dash on the Vette: $995. On 458, 7 grand.
Consider ordering from one of the corvetteforum dealers should any of you other guys consider buying a c7. They seem to do a bang up job of exceeding expectations. Just something to consider if the local dealers to you. Are charging over msrp. Should be a great new corvette!
i ordered my car from Mike Furman at Crisswell Chevy in Maryland I found on that site. Mike is a terrific guy and true Vette enthusiast owning over 20 of his own. I am paying MSRP.
Bob. Are you really buying a vette? I always enjoy reading your posts and I just stumbled on this thread being an old Corvette owner myself. I thought you were in the market for an F12 in a similar color. Are you pulling a J Leno on us?? Seriously I think the vette and its iterations will be a world beater. Jim
Still looking for a classic F car. F12? I don't think so. Too big for me. I'm more excited right now about the Alfa 4c. The Vette convertible replaces my 12 year old Maserati spyder, which I still love. It will be tough to say goodbye but I think the Vette has outdone it. Haven't owned an American car in 35 years (a Pinto!). It will be interesting to try again. I'll given them one more shot
Anyone know when the next ZR1 will arrive? It seems like car companies are releasing special models pretty quickly. Jim
Oh...and when are the first coupes arriving? I checked the website of Courtesy Chevrolet, one of the bigger dealers here in central Ca, and no mention of the 2014 yet. J
Umm.... if one 458 worth 15 Camry's? I hate these kinds of comparisons. They're apples and oranges. Both cars are what they are.
There are only 900 Chevy dealers that will get the C7. And, their allocations are based on past sales of Corvettes. 3 dealers east of the Mississippi have like 25% of all Corvette sales. The car has not shipped from the factory yet but will in a few days. They are still ramping up for the next few weeks. I would expect that any early cars that arrive in CA on dealers lots will go well over MSRP, which is stupid.
