The RB/Renault combination, imo, is not one of the fastest when compared to Ferrari or Mercedes as the RB needs downforce more than other packages to perform accordingly. I am just thinking about known variables so practice and qualifying should be most enlightening in regards too the race.

As long as if it a Mercedes (regardless of the driver) or a Ferrari color me "happy happy happy"!

Concur (though Alonso winning is a long shot, but if he qualifies well he should have a decent chance...note that rain is what sent him backwards in Q last race).

If Hamilton could find a way to beat out Vettel for the second step that would be awesome, but I think we've already seen that the Merc isn't at the same level as RBR on a high speed track.

I can't see them dominating in Ferrari's back yard, but ....we shall see.

I think Vet and his bull will run off again.

    +1 lol.

I think he's been banking on that order for a few races now.

I don't think Merc can beat the RBR this weekend because it's another high-speed circuit. We saw what happened at Eau Rouge on the last high-speed circuit. If there is no rain, I wouldn't count Ferrari out at THIS race in particular.

won't be here this weekend so i'll have to record everything.

I think Vettel will win this, not as convincing as last week though. Fight for 2nd/3rd/4th will be interesting. Lotus is on the back foot but with their new LWB car which is supposed to improve aerodynamic balance they have a small chance of getting on the podium here.

MB changed their low aero package for Monza. MB will walk away with this one.

    As do all the others......

It's not like Merc are the only one's who know Monza is "low downforce".

You noted Ferrari's new front wing - Low D/F.
    New endplates? Low drag.

They all understand what's needed, not just as you seem to imply, Merc. ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

Seems an omen for Monza for Red Bull????

--http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/23840357 - Gary Anderson BBC analysis of Spa--

--Sebastian Vettel's dominant victory in the Belgian Grand Prix is bad news for the rest of the field - and damages hopes of a close championship.--

"It was not as if Red Bull introduced any major new developments to improve Vettel's car at Spa.
They used a slightly revised front wing, but that was about it.

What made the difference was that they were able to run their cars with a small rear wing to suit the long straights but still carry a lot of front wing.

In short, that allowed them to go faster than their rivals. who had to reduce the downforce on the front of their cars in order to balance the lack of grip at the rear. "

Sounds like they're still getting a lot of aero in back from something other than the wing.

Rear grip and good corner exit/drive. Better airflow management in the rear.
