My 348 Bosche Battery died in one year? The auto parts store said there must be something wrong with my car's electrical system that made the battery died that quickly? Anyone has the same problem, that their battery died within a year?

    Not enough data.

    1. Do you drive the car often?
    2. Do you leave the car on a charger, or not?
    3. Do you have any heavy load on your car like a 2000 watts stereo?
    4. How long was the battery sitting on the shelves before they sold it to you?

I drive the car at least once a week. I sometimes disconnect battery or use trickle charger when car sitting for more than two weeks. My car has no stereo. Battery is brand new on self with recent manufacture date.

Mine would discharge occasionally. I don't use a tender. If it sat for 2 weeks, there was a 50/50 shot on it being low. Sometimes it was, sometimes it was fine. All that said, after disconnecting the ECUs for the power seat belts, I've never had a low battery. I disconnected them about a year ago (94 Spider). I believe someone posted that the seat belt ECUs sometimes drain the battery if the belts don't fully retract. Just a thought......

My 348 has the same "problem"; if sat for 3 weeks, the battery is so low that it won't start up. I use to let it sat for long periods with the battery disconnected, however I don´t like to wait 10 minutes for the ECUs to relearn.

Due to the same experiences about this issue of several owners here, it seems to be normal on this cars, but to be honest, I don't understand why my Honda S2000 starts just fine after 2 months sat and not the Ferrari.

As far as I know, it's recommended to let the car idle until the water radiators fans start up (aprox 10 min.) if the batery has been disconnected, because the ECUs loose the information learnt when they are not powered. You can drive off after a munite with no big issues if your 348 is as stock because the factory presets are never erased, but it's not my case, because my 348 has a custom made exhaust system, high flow cats, ported cylinder heads, iridium spark plugs, adjustable fuel pressure regulators...

In that case, it is just a bad battery. I use a trickle charger on my cars most of the time and my Interstate battery would last about five years.

My M3 battery from BMW lasts only 2 years. My Ducati battery lasts 1 year. My Optima battery dies prematurely.

I would get an Interstate battery and religiously put on the trickle charger.

You always want to make sure your grounds are solid and free of corrosion. Other than that, I removed all my sound system and alarm stuff and the cars still discharges over 2 weeks. It's just a Ferrari with a small battery. Hook up the tender and don't sweat it.
