I have obtained a set of Irvin Air Chute lap/shoulder belts that need restoration. I sent them to Snake Oyl, and they could not restore them. I sent them to Bill Rich in Canada, who could not restore them in a timely manner. Any suggestions for restoration? They are in good shape ,but need new period webbing and the hardware replated. I am restoring 1966 GTC #8329, the Geneva "showcar". Thanks for any help that you fellow vintage Ferraristi can give me.

I would suggest contacting Fchat member motob who is with Patrick Ottis in Berkeley. He/they should be able to provide you with all the referrals you need.
Best of luck on the restoration.

The hardware on the "Paratrooper" belts in GTC 9303 is not plated, it's aluminum and wears its natural finish. The little IRVIN Paratrooper insignia is gold plated filled in with blue paint, maybe that's what you were referring to. The little arrows showing how to attach them are filled with red paint. I really needed those arrows the first time I used the belts, they are a bit of a puzzle at first. The webbing is maroon, probably the closest match to the red interior. I have also seen them with dark blue webbing in a black interior. Anyways, you gotta have the "Paratrooper belts", they are one of the many interesting little details on these cars.

    Hope this helps.

The belts are the "Paratrooper" ones but unfortunately, the latches were chrome plated. The plating needs to be removed to take the latches back to bare aluminum. The rest of the hardware needs to be replated and I need new period webbing. I already asked my good friend Mr. Ottis and he did not have a particular seatbelt restorer in mind. Again, any leads for a seat belt restorer would be appreciated. I found the belts on EBAY if that helps anyone.
