there is a rule in business: you don't rehire somebody you fired. very unlikely it will work out the second time. Kimi was forced out to make way for Fred. don't think they will be buddies at SF.

I want Rosberg but Kimi could attract Vettel in the unlikely case he stays longer than Alonso

Rosberg would be fine as well.

Brundle on SKY said today Kimi's manager told him that Lotus is their first choice for next year. That doesnt sound like a Kimi Ferrari move at all. Who knows!! LdM will certainly enlighten all of us soon!

It's going to be interesting seeing what Vettel does in a couple years. I can see Newey and others going with him should be head to Ferrari. Everyone wants to work Ferrari before they retire. Newey bringing a championship to Ferrari would be the ultimate send off.

They should sign Nico. He's used to playing No 2 and is faster than Lewis anyway.

Both Kimi (who is know to comment in the press as little as possible) and LdM have both publicly in the press said there is no problem between them and they'd work together again. This seems like a clue here.

Thats polite talk to placate Kimi who would love to leave Lotus and probably wont. I would imagine his manager approached Ferrari not the other way round.
LdM said they have all types of drivers who the press says are available. I wonder if its someone we are not hearing about possibly. Kova etc.
    Stranger things have happend!

I think they need to do something bold like bringing Kimi in.

I don't understand why Hulkenberg is considered better than Massa. Today was Nico's best finish this year- P5. But, he started in P3. So far, Massa has accumulated 79 points to Hulkenberg's 17.

17 points in this year's Sauber is worth at least 100 in this year's Ferrari.

Look at the seat swap the other way around. What would Massa have scored this year in the Sauber?

I doubt it. After seeing the way Luca recently scolded Fernando, does anyone think Kimi can get away with, "Leave me alone. I know what I'm doing" at Ferrari? Fool Ferrari once, shame on Kimi.

More and pretty specific rumours - Kimi's 20 Million salary is supposed to be paid by Shell, this way, Montezemolo does not have to justify spending money in someone he once paid for leaving. Announcement expected for Wednesday.

I could see that if Kimi were Dutch/Belgian. If Im Shell that would be a Ferrari problem!

Nico is at times doing far more than the 2013 Sauber should be capable off. Massa is at times, not coming close to the potential of his Ferrari. I think it is pretty obvious that Hulkenberg is a better choice than Massa. Perhaps Ferrari could orchestrate a driverswap between the two and have Massa return to his 'roots'.

As some in the F1 press are saying, Nico had a good day but for the most part of this year he has been anonymous as well. He has not won a race in an inferior car ala Vettel. Hard to say what is so great about him overall.

He has potential. Better than Massa or anyone else in a Ferrari is pure conjecture. Kimi is the only one with Ferrari experience and even then he had a very tough time vs Felipe.

    Personal, sorry.

However, there is a little murmour Alonso will be at Lotus next year, with Nico Hulkenberg at Ferrari with Kimi, but the young lady who tells me Kimi is a done deal (who should know) says Alonso will be at Ferrari with Kimi, and the talk of Alonso is just rubbish

Oh well we will have to wait and see I suppose.

Yes we wait. How serious was LdM or was he trying to motivate his driver(s) with the so called driver announcement. Normally Ferrari do take their time with this. Interesting!
