Tweets from Adam Cooper: I'm told that Kimi Raikkonen really is going back to Ferrari. Story is Hulk was on pole around Budapest time, but team changed its mind. It seems Alonso was happier with the original plan, which may explain recent tensions in the camp.

And Martin Brundle: hearing Kimi/Ferrari deal now agreed // that would create inevitable fireworks.

That's a crazy idea! I can't imagine any idiot ever agreeing to pay Kimi NOT to drive. Oh, wait a minute....

Well...I don't know...as for myself, it is usually when they do indeed deny that I begin to believe it might be true...

Funny thing is that Chairman of Shell is a Finn, Jorma Ollila who used to be CEO in Nokia before going to Shell.

My God; there are Finns everywhere: they even control the energy sector now!
I take the opportunity to have a thought for that journalist from Finland who said a month ago that the Kimi-to-Ferrari deal was already cast and done, this against all odds and critics. If this proves to be true indeed this week, that man will have established his credibility...

Shell wants some Nordic sympathy after the Greenpeace "arctic oil" protests at Spa.

If they rely on Raikkonen´s eloquency, they´re in trouble.

It's looking like this is now a done deal. I think that it's a good idea, althought it'll be the first time we have 2 Champions in the team for more than 50 years. Sparks may well fly, but my feeling is that Alonso will have the upper hand. I think Kimi will be a more reliable points scorer than Massa, so if we have the car to do it we could win both championships with this team. Of course the car needs to be a big step forward otherwise the internal *****ing and back-biting will just get worse.

Given Kimi's work against Massa, of all drivers, he is no lock of results. From what Im reading they just want a different face in the second car. At this point it doesnt matter at all. If Kimi shows up it will be short term. This environment is toxic for him to begin with.

If he gets the seat I applaud him. With new cars next year Ferrari might be terrible and then it doesnt matter who is losing to FA inside the team.

If Kimi matches or even betters him (doubt the latter), Alonso will winge and ***** for the rest of that season, and then leave again.

I have no doubt he, FA has an 'exit' strategy in place. He was way too compliant yesterday with all the team this and team decision that.

Its no secret he does not want to see Kimi there next to him.

That being said Kimi is not the earth moving driver FA is. Not at all.

Maybe Jorma Ollila doesn't have anything to do with it, in 2009 Shell was the only one making a tribute for Kimi and thanking him for the three years in Scuderia:

    I think he means Ferrari.

While Mansell wasn't a WDC at the time, we had Mansell and Prost as teammates at one point.
