As long as we don't lose Alonso. If Kimi to Ferrari means running off Alonso I cannot support that. Chasing Alonso away would be the absolute dumbest thing Ferrari could do right now.
I would be happy to see Kimi back. If Ferrari continue to build a substandard car then at least I can enjoy Kimi and Alonso race the heck out of each other. Massa is a good driver, but he lacks confidence now. He needs another team to start fresh. I dont think Kimi will care about the number 2 status because he wont see himself that way.
Heikki Kulta told that the announcement will come this week. Papers write that it's on Wednesday. Here is what Pekka Franck wrote today:
Kimi going to Ferrari further solidifies that next year and for a while moving forward I believe it will be Mercedes vs Ferrari as they have the strongest driving pairings on the grid. All of these drivers have proven they know how to yield results, Ricci is going to have a gestation period getting acclimated more at the sharp end of things IF Red Bull have a car which is capable. I only hope 2014 shows good competition between Merc and Ferrari and that neither blows the other (and the field) out of the water, that would be boring. Ferrari's engine sound clip should be coming hopefully soon!
I hope it´s true, finally a driver i can root for again...if only they would get ride of Alonso also it would be perfect!!
From Autosport; Err, Eric, seems you forgot he's already driven for 'em!..... It continues; Err, Eric, it seems you don't have a week!...... Cheers, Ian
Happily wednesday is midweek, when everyone here goes to get hammered at the yacht club. I'll be sure to either drown myself in alcohol because of happiness or sadness.
I think that Kimi is a hell lotta expensive number 2. I´d prefer Hulkenberg, Sutil or someone like that who still would be incredibly happy as a number 2 in a top team, and spend the remaining cash in a new wind tunnel.
Formula One driver Felipe Massa gets speeding ticket on way to Italian GP - ESPN Poor Phil is done..... When you can't get out of a speeding ticket as a Ferrari F1 driver, while driving a Ferrari on the way to the Grand Prix of Italy, you are history!
Riccardo Patrese tweeted last night that it was a done deal, Kimi back to Ferrari. Must be true then....
Wait, the Italian police gave a FERRARI grand Prix driver a speeding ticket on his way to the Italian GP?! What the hell is this world coming to? What did they say to him? "Who do you think you are? Fernando Alonso?"....
I doubt if he cares as much as we do. He lives in Monaco to begin with. This will probably disappear in some fashion over time
Latest from Boullier-- If Kimi goes he goes....frankly at times he(kimi) sounds like a pain in the rear for so many things. If he returns to Ferrari 'be careful what you wish for' etc etc. I wont do this, I wont do that etc etc. Why on earth would he want to be a Ferrari again with all they demand lol! MONEY is my guess.... Lotus close to meeting Kimi Raikkonen's demands - Eric Boullier | Lotus F1 | Formula 1 news, live F1 | ESPN F1 Lotus team principal Eric Boullier believes he can offer Kimi Raikkonen what he wants by the end of the week and is hoping it won't be too late to keep him at the team next year. Raikkonen's future is the hot topic in Formula One, with rumours that a Ferrari deal has already been signed while the door remains open to the Finn at Lotus. In recent weeks Raikkonen has sought reassurances that Lotus will have the funding to mount a serious challenge for the title next season and still be able to pay his bills on time. Boullier said he would be able to put forward a full package to his driver by the end of the week. "I gave them some updates this weekend [at Monza] and I am very sure that within a week I can have answers for the reassurance they are asking," Boullier said. "And from then I think we can move very fast after that in talking about next year." He added: "Singapore would be nice and it should be realistic." But Boullier admitted that he could not stop Raikkonen going to Ferrari if that is what his driver has his heart set on. "If he wants to go to Ferrari then he can go to Ferrari and that's it." Boullier said he is not worried about missing out on other drivers as Raikkonen is Lotus's first choice. "You have a lot of plans, but no one has been further than Kimi in our thoughts," he added. "I want to understand Kimi's situation first and I think after the second Ferrari seat we are next in the list [for other potential drivers]. So people can wait and we can afford this luxury choice."
They have been updating it for a few years now, they problem is they aren't correlating their work correctly to the car half the time.
