    Hi Graeme,
Attached are a few snaps of the stereo. As far as I am aware, it is the original. It does work, but I think the soundtrack of the 4.9 litre V8 sounds far better than anything on the radio.....
    Regards,
    Richard

    Hi Graeme.
One of the Merak guys has done all the artwork for this tank. I can send you his details tomorrow if you like. I always meant to buy one of these tanks too but never saw one up for sale

    Hi Julian
That would be great if you can send me the info.
The last tank I heard of went for $1,500.00USD that’s why at 150 delivered even in the state its in I jumped on it.
The tank I have is very solid stainless and I recon it and along with the cockroaches would be the only thing left after a nuclear disaster!!

    Cheers
    Graeme

What a good find, proverbial hens teeth...

They are only made of tinplate and have soldered joints etc. that pipe on the side will have hardened grommets now so expect leaks etc there. I ended up plating the holes up on mine and will come up with a solution later on for the level.

    Hi Bal
the Tanks a nutorious for rusting out on the bottom as they used soound deadener to mount them. this got wet and the rest is history.

I am pleased just to get a tank. I am going to talk to a lock guy who is an exponent of paintless dent removal who learnt his trade at Citroen Factory! I might cost a bit but I know this guy is good.

    Cheers
    Graeme

That's not a Bora tank as you guys obviously know. This seller is about 80 miles from me and most of what he sells is rather shall we say used ... up.

    He's also expensive IMHO.

After some mails up and down and recent discussion in the Ghibli-thread, I have renewed my search for the original material to cover my mouse-damaged dash top.

Fabio Collina at Maserati kindly confirmed that the material used was known as 'mouse hair', and should be the same as used in more classic Italians, but I need it in brown.

Maserati tell me to try HvL (Henk van Lith) and I will send him a sample.

Is anyone else in need of brown mouse hair?

    Best,

    Jack.

    Hi Jack,

As pointed out in the Ghibli thread I herewith add a pic of the brown dah top, mostly seen in combination with light interiors.
The car on the pic is K#504.
BTW, I have also seen light interiors with black dash tops but slightly faded and then the get dark brownish.

And a pic on K#406, the brown dash top colors, and leather between K#504 and 406 do differ, can be the result of fading. Both cars are un-molested!
406 is a sleeping beauty stored in a dark garage...

It might be an obviuos comment but the panels in the door trim are a give away as to the original colour.
This stuff is probably very similar to the Dino material only in a drak brown.

    Cheers

@Bob: LOL, is that a rare Patagonian red-neck rat? Thanks for the chuckle!

@Bart: My dash looks identical to #504. If not mouse-hair, what is the material? To me, it looks more like a roughed cotton than anything else.

@Graeme: The door-inserts, yes, and also the cant-rails. Small pieces also used under the dash on the steering column.

    Best,

    Jack.

The Daytona may have a similar dash material, if so Luppi in Italy may be able to assist with material.

Good suggestion, I haven't tried them yet.

    Hi Paul,

That is Brian C's car, AM120.413 which does indeed have a plate ending in AAA though it is navy not black but if it was at night it would be easy to confuse.

AM120401 which is black and also in Scotland has no A's in its registration.

Then there is another K in Scotland with someone who has boundless enthusiasm for Bertone designed cars...oh wait that is you:)

    Best regards,

    Marc

    LOL

    Hi Marc

Yes I did ask immediately if it was dark blue but my friend was adamant it was black. In fairness it has been dull and very overcast up here so it would have been easy to confuse!

Despite all my efforts messages and emails I have never been contacted by the apparent owner of the 'black' car!

    hope your well and thriving

    Paul

The October addition will have what I think is one of the articles Marc eluded to.
Its an article where a reader gets to drive their dream car and that will be the Khamsin.

    Cheers

This message is for Frank M (Portenos)...

    Hello Frank...

There is a picture currently for sale on e-bay (US) from 1981 where you
are standing with a Khamsin.. I would repost the picture here but the
seller may have some rights to the photo..

My question is could this be the silver Khamsin which I own, which you
once ownee.. I don't have the VIN in front of me but it would be 1120.

    Thanks...
