Interesting conversion . I just guess you can't beat those BB chev engines. In fact I just saw an article on a restored 1967 L88 BB roadster sold at a Mecum auction for $3.2M

I was at willow springs raceway (here in so cal)... track day... when I saw a yellow 360 with a chevy V-8 BUILT!! this thing could NOT get the power too the ground!! it must of spun 5 times in one lap!! classic case of MORE not being better!! I will say the installation was clean!! def not a chop job!

The motor is not a "BB" or big block it would be an all aluminium LS probably an LS7. I would bet that an LS7 would not weigh any more than the 360 motor despite having twice the displacement (ignoring turbos). Dual overhead cams significantly increase the weight over a push rod situation. I havn't seen a comparison but I would argue that there are very few stock motors which have a better HP/engine weight than an LS7 irregardless of displacement.

What would be the purpose of getting a 430 engine in the 360? Unless you are going to take it apart and the fact that it is newer.

with more power and new, might be a half bad idea when the time comes.

some one had a new 430 challenge motor for $39k.

I don't know 360s/430s, does Fcar still produce the 430 engine? Or are these just a last few spares produced?

Everything is possible. You'd need to transfer a lot of other components over also. You'd need the 430 gearbox for example and also the ECUs to drive the two. That would probably lead on to a heap of other things that would need to be replaced or swapped over also (things like the steering wheel with the manettino switch for example).

It would be unlikely that one could do it on a cost effective basis but it would be possible, yes.

Loads of other engines could also be made to fit, but again probably not on a cost effective basis.

That looks superb. Perfect transplant for a 360. Definite improvement...

You could fit what ever you wanted in there. The only limiting thing would be your wallet.

The 360 is a fine car as it is. If you want more..buy a corvette, and put the 360 interior in it. Now you have the best of both worlds!! Power, and a sticky interior..wahoo!!

Nothing about Ferrari is cost effective. If you're looking for automotive value I think you should look elsewhere.

The thing I don't get about putting a 430 motor in the 360 is that the cars already look the same. If you want 430 power in a car that looks a lot like a 360 just buy a 430 and be done with it. If you wanted 430 power in a 355, 348, 308, 246, P3/4, etc., now that's a worthwhile project*.

I've seen lots of 360's with MR2 motors on Fleabay - the seller always claims them to be cost effective to run.

Looks like the front wheels would have plenty of traction.

You mean Novitec and by the way they just make supercharged systems not turbo.
