They do it because it's cost-effective, allows them to keep the car inside and minimize the risk of being spotted. And it's also far easier to demonstrate the technical principles of the car. It may not like like Avatar, but it certainly does it's job.

Such a shame... well into the 21st century and VIN spotting is still perceived as something obscure, nearly illegal... :(

The fact alone that VINs are now clearly exposed should make clear enough that it's not any secret data!

Worst part is they make the nonsense official, I could even understand from the owner of a private car, but not from F-staff at a show.

    Yeah I agree.

As you say, when it's someones private property I have absolute understanding that they might want to keep it private. However, this is an "official" car.

If me taking a picture of the VIN on a show car is a f***ing problem then take the number out of the slot in the window prior to the show or cover it up.

    Smaller displacement per cylinder.

I still think the 355 is the best sounding V8 so far.

Plus minus the Italia costs 169.500 euro plus 21% here in Italy.

Very similar. In the Netherlands, the price is 197.500 EUR gross. With both taxes included, that becomes either 285k or 303k EUR, depending on you're going for the HELE (High Emotion, Low Emission) version or not.

For the Americans among us, that equates to a nett base price of 380k or 404k USD. Isn't that lovely? And a tank of petrol costs 'only' 150 EUR or 200 USD.

And some people are still asking me why I left the Netherlands 6 years ago? ;-)

$197,500 EUR equals $264k+/- US for the base car.

Most cars will be $300k US then with options, which makes sense. (Or does it?)

Basically the price of the Spider +/-.

    Can this be accurrate?

Nah, smaller unitary displacement doesn't affect sound. It affects revving but we all know that modern Ferraris rev higher and more freely.

I should have posted this to begin with when I posted the vid link for the poster...My strong suspicion is they had the sound mics inside the cockpit and not in the engine bay. That really is a blunder on their behalf, which gives folks like yourself the wrong impression. My guess the sound will be much like the Italia, but maybe a higher pitch roar. :)
