I think that was about 800 Corvettes in the picture. However the shipping yard there will hold 1,400 Corvettes. I wonder if they park the cars starting at the back where they are loaded for transport. Otherwise the early build Corvettes might get shipped last!

I saw a brief review on Motor Trend last night and I have to say the new Corvette looks fantastic. I haven't considered buying one until last night. A lot of car for the money.

Very interesting system on these that senses tire temperature and adjusts suspension and traction accordingly.

+1 I stumbled over Jay Leno's tour of the car and it looked well-equipped as the "base" model. Interesting to see what the Z06/ZR1 will bring.

And a few hours later... the first tests from the aftermarket of a baseline car.

They don't waste any time! Still want to see one in person. Some angles are awesome. Others not so much.

I ordered a convertible. I want museum delivery. But, I can't pick it up until late Jan or Feb because of my overseas travel schedule. So, the salesman is trying to arrange it.

There's no firm date as to when Convertibles will go into production. A guess is December sometime.

I'm in the first wave. It just depends on when I can get it.

Interesting that the Corvette is the braking and handing champ and the 911 the acceleration champ. Quite the role reversal from years gone by.

That's what happens when you go from a pure bred sports car to a GT.

Mark I am not sure what you are saying? Which car is the GT and which is the pure bred sports car? Which are you saying will be better?

I am not arguing or debating. I just want to understand your point of view.

I believe what he is saying is that Porsche have progressively grown the size of the 911 with each series and added luxury both of which take it away from its roots as a pure, more bare bones sports car.

They have done this because they are trying to grab some of the lucrative GT market which they should be filling with a new 928 and they are holding down the Cayman platform all to protect the 911. They have become slaves to it, while losing a lot of sales to competitors. A great car though, that should be able to stand on its own.

On the vette, Edmunds do good reviews, the facts with no BS. Just a refresher for some, I watched their ZR1 review to confirm what I thought I knew and Yes the ZR1 out performs this new car in every category and to my eyes is a great looking car. I would assume no more are being produced?

Exactly. The 911, which I am very fond of, keeps getting bigger and more leaning more towards a GT. Corvette seems to be going towards a more pure sports car.

Thank you for helping me understand what was being said.

Although I do not currently own a 911 car I have owned three and loved them. I drove a 2013, 911 S and it was awesome.

The Vette is getting better every year as a sports car, maybe a GT. They have become a world class car now.

So maybe they are closing in to each other. I suspect the 911 still is better maybe the 2014 will change that.

I did chose a 2013 427 vette over the 2013 911S. not sure why, less cost maybe

    Thank you

No question the Vette is a lot more bang for the buck. The 911 (base model) is getting into stupid-money territory when well equipped. Regardless which one of the twenty or so verisons of the non-turbo'd 911s it is. I can't believe I saw a regular 911S with a sticker well into the 100s ($35k+ in options on top of $96k base). Crazy stuff.

The 911 that Edmunds tested against the C7 was $144,000!!!!!!!!!

Agreed and well said. I would also add the 911's all look like the same car. I know the 997, 911 was better than 996. 911 and so forth but they look almost the same and now becoming very expensive. I think they drive the best and last forever without major problems.

As one poster said the Vette is alot of car for the money and that is true. I also think they are becoming world class also.

My 2014 will be a base car and I bought it at list for the $50K's. I know it is a stripped base car but it will drive as well.

I must add my 2009 ZR1 at 638hp is one of the fastest cars I have driven with good driving manners.
