I like the way the "tip" is included, but why only 10%? Based on normal practice, it should have been 15%! :D

In Europe 10% tip on most things is considered "correct amount". Why Europeans who come to USA are always getting bad raps as poor-ass tippers in restaurants, etc.

    Just difference in upbringing....

I thought it a nice gesture from a good friend, but glad Ferrari finally got a little something from the soda pop makers. :)

Even if it was MS I would still ask for a $27,000 discount!

Hell I was given the "evil eye" in Russia and Amsterdam when I tipped, they wanted and gladly took my money so you would think they could bend a little.

For that matter Italians are themselves seen badly in Europe as they don't tip at all. But that's because in Italy 10% service charge is usually already included in the bill.

    I don't tip at all!!

I accept SERVICE included in a price, but don't accept the culture of tipping.

When a waiter or someone takes the issue with me, I suggest him to take the issue with his boss; I am a customer, and not his employer.
I am not there to pay his wage, and prices must always be ALL INCLUSIVE with me.

And I don't care about bad rap from people I will never see again...

If service isn't included I tip. Like it or not that's the pay structure. I won't make a statement of principle that someone else has to pay for.

    Where?

I'm much more offended when service is included and the service is bad. If a server is poor I want the right to stiff the jerk.

My understanding is that in the USA, service staff wouldn't be able to make a living without the tips. It's the way the pay is structured. no?

Here in Aus, we tip a bit...usually more than is fair, but the wage has to meet minimum requirements and you can actually make a decent living without the tips. Unfortunately, like everything else bad in this society, we're picking up American customs :)...so, not only do the staff get reasonable pay, they ALSO gets tips!

I wish someone would tip me for my work!

when billed with tip included, I tear it and demand reprinted without, and only ever hand tips in cash directly to server, unless they were rude or poor service, then typically 10% tip given

    You and me both.

Yes the majority of servers get minimum wage (or less if the law allows) not enough to get by on. The pay structure sux but it it is what it is.

We're on vacation and here you can't put a tip on the CC. Has to be cash. A tax advantage to the waiter I suspect.
