Will do! Your pictures are superb. I have some Louis Klemantski signed pictures from the 1957 mille miglia with Portago's and von trips cars being prepared in the courtyard among others. I love this era...you cannot beat hearing memories first hand-the atmosphere at Maranello and Modena must have been electric.

1959 G.P. of France: part of starting grid with fantastic drivers (me apart) and a few became nice friends, unfortunately most dead

Reads like the Hall of Fame of GP drivers

It is interesting to note that this was in the middle of the transition from front engined to rear/mid engined cars.

only a quibble, but1959 was really the beginning of the transition. During the 1958 season only Coopers had their engines behind the drivers.

Yes, you can look at the image posted by Fritz in #327 and see that the front mounted engines were doomed.

This last weekend Mr. Fritz d'Orey, driving his 458, was second at the Caramulo MotorFestival on the GT category.

Caramulo MotorFestival is a hill climb and a very popular event in Portugal. Think of it as a small Goodwood!

Thank you very much Mr. Fritz for your presence and enthusiasm for Ferrari and for supporting our young Clube.
It's a pleasure and a privilege to be able to share some time with you!

Yes, Portugal is the best place in the world to enjoy a Ferrari!!!

I have driven all over for 60 years and nothing compares to Portugal.

Fantastic roads, beauty all around, best food, nice people...

Yesterday, arriving at the beautiful Marina of Cascais, crossing a little bridge with my Ferrari, I was amazed by a bunch of people clapping and smiling. They love Ferrari!!!

You should come to this country that I only discovered last year and decided to move from Brasil and spend all my last years in this paradise...

Sounds great. But Fritz, you have a head start with the language.

    Enjoy it all.

In Portugal almost everybody speaks or understands english. Lots of British tourists. They have discovered paradise decades ago.

    Believe me: Portugal is paradise...

Caro Fritz! Bem haja!

Fico com pena por não terem surgido mais oportunidades no Caramulo para que melhor pudéssemos ter privado, mas acredito que outras não faltarão! :)

Well, I just got back from 12 days in Portugal....
I think Fritz is under-selling it!
Unbelievably beautiful, rugged, GREAT roads, stunning scenery, wonderful people... Fantastic!

Also, my wife and i had the distinct pleasure of meeting Fritz and his lovely wife. We shared a glass of wine, chatting, talked Ferrari /cars/ racing, etc. He is a true gentleman, incredibly generous, and a very special person. I will cherish those few hours the rest of my life!
    Thanks Fritz!

A great way to cap off a great vacation!!
