Starting Bid is $2.0M. Im not sure how real this ebay posting is but i would think they want more than $2.0M considering the car will be $1.4M or around $1.5M with taxes..30% return would be weak IMO.

Seems like a good way to lose your spot if they haven't started delivering yet.

I sure hope Ferrari does do that, and gives it to someone else who actually deserves this allocation.

No one deserves to be blessed with ownership, its a car sold for commercial gain by its manufacturer, once out of their hands anyone can sell it on in the future, you dont have to give up your first born to be the initial owner.

This happened with the Enzo as well. No one should be surprised.

I thought when buying one the first owner had to give the first option to sell the car back to Ferrari??

If you break the rules, what is supposed to be the consequences? Ferrari will not sell you another limited car?

It is 1.85 and apparently he no longer wishes to be associated with the vendor.

Hard to sell a car that has not been delivered yet.

    +1

But yes, as others have said, this happened with the Enzo, as well. I just really don't like it when I see it... :(

And to clarify my comment about "I wish Ferrari would take the alloc back, and give it to someone who deserves it," I'm referring to an enthusiast who may have been left out because there's more demand than there are allocations.

I say this because I know what it's like to be a proper enthusiast, willing and able, only to be told "We love you, and really appreciate you, but there's far too much demand and we can't accommodate you." It happens. No one likes it. But it happens, and it's a fact of life and of these types of cars.

Still, whenever someone tries to flip immediately (especially before it's even sold), my heart cringes a bit.

My worry would be this . . . you agree on a price to buy his contract, but my guess is that the contract to purchase the car is not assignable. So you have to wait for him to get title. Then he has second thoughts. Could get messy.

Yeah, agreed. Especially since Ferrari does keep tabs on who they're selling these specific cars to. I'm not sure how extensively they did that with the Enzo, but I know they did with the F50 (at least in the US).
