    I really like the look of the black one honestly. I know it isn't a "pure" car as it left the factory, but I enjoy very aggressively modified cars as well. Variety is the spice of life!

    Also says "immaculate". Perhaps worth the asking price for a later model, though with the smog stuff disconnected, I don't think it would do well here in Cali.

    Sparco, OMP, MOMO or any racing seat is a direct bolt solution. There are the reclining semi race seats which are fairly comfortable.

    Due to the centre console you need to watch the width of the seat or it won't have room to slide forward much.
    I put Sparco tubular framed seats in mine. Also changed the rails to Sparco racing ones which lock on both rails.

    Taking corners is a lot more fun.

    Off topic here but i've seen the pics of yours - looks great and I probably shouldn't waste my time looking for a half baked option. In your case, was there a 'universal' seat frame that allowed easy fitting to the stock rails?

    I cant wrap my head around these cars. They look very Euro and there isnt any cool or wow factor to them. Different, yes. But its not a head-turner like most Pininfarina cars and frankly, several Bertone/Gandini designed cars. Granted, few 4 seater Ferraris are nearly as good looking as the two seaters, so that has to be taken into account. Some colors I think help the lines quite a but...

    That silver looks very sharp. Shame they couldn't fill in the cut out for the DOT bumpers in the back at least before painting.

    Each to their own ofcourse, but I find with mine I need to slow down and look - I take it for granted and my brain registers it as one of those '70's wedges' that 'dont look good' (which is what the E-type fan might say). But on closer inspection there is so much well done detail - there are the Countach and Stratos suggestions, especially the Euro bumper cars. Lights up - shades of Boxer. The design seems to have been properly fleshed out (whereas Esprits seem more origami, folded paper, perhaps conceptual). The Gt4 pretty? Perhaps not but its like the more mild mannered of its dashing cousins. It's the more thoughtful one. thought out.

    The Us bumpers dont help (mine has them but pushed in), but they didnt help any car of that time. I'll also say the Urraco looks better, more like a motor show prototype. But again, not as well thought out.

    From inside too they just work - more headroom than a 308gtb (where the top of the windscreen hovers nearvyour forehead), amazing visibility especially forward (a group C view as someone wrote on another site). I drove with my light pods up a few days back and you miss that flat hood and unobstructed view forward immediately.

    On todays roads they start to look other worldly, guess their rarity helps. People look hard - that surprises me (as someone who bought a non red Gt4 partly because it wasnt obviously Ferrari). Plenty of stop, turn and looks.

    I find I take Pininfarina's 308 for granted too...over exposed to them since childhood (although mostly from watching Magnum). But when I slow down and look..so pretty..but I'll keep the Gt4 thanks.

    The quick answer is there was no universal frame needed as it was a direct fit...

    There must be some old racing specs that have been followed from day one that Ferrari followed. Or it's sheer fluke. I bought the Sparco's off the shelf along with the Sparco sear rails. The bolts lined up basically spot on. Another guy bought MOMO seats and they too bolt directly on to the GT4 seat bolsters.

    I bought the Sparco rails cause one of mine were shot and for both sets they were about the same cost as one Ferrari rail. But more importantly they are FIA approved double locking, which are safer on the track.

    Some seats are side mounted which should come with brackets which rap under the seat to bolt to the frame, I imagine they would also work out of the box. But they will raise the seat.

    The Sparco rails do raise the seats about 1/2" which if you wear a helmet and are about 5'-10" will be snug to the roof of the car. However the Ferrari rails will fit though the GT4 has a welded on bracket on the side which may need to get cut off to fit the new seats. Best just to grab some Sparco rails as well and save the originals with the old seats.

    They aren't for everyone's tastes, but they are growing on more and more people. And they are a hell of a fun car to drive.

    That would be me...I did have to slightly elongate the back holes on each rail with a file to fit. Took all of five minutes and it keeps it nice and clean. The difference is unbelievable in how snug you fit in the seat.

    I'd like to again clarify that as far as 2+2 cars go, it's clearly incredibly difficult to create a nice looking one (see the 412, 456, 612, FF and Porsche's Panamera), so for a four seat Ferrari they did the best job they could. It's just different, which isn't always bad.

    I think that the GT4 is handsome in an unferrari idiom. The 456 is a beautiful car. No reservations. The 412 is very much a period piece and hasn't aged well but is nicely proportioned. The others? Not so much.

    Having owned a GT4 and a QV, I think that there is literally no comparison - you can't. What a GT4 should be compared with is a Mondial, and there it wins hands down - the style, the balance - it's a complete car, whereas the Mondial looks a bit cobbled together.

    I know taste is very personal, but I'm idly looking at acquiring a GT4, but would never consider a Mondial - I have a QV, which is a better example of Pinin's art.

    I once parked my GT4 next to a Countach, and it held its own very well - I'd love to see one next to a Urraco and a Stratos.
