Hi There, My recently purchased 2002 575M Maranello has a deactivated Boomerang security system in it which I have been told cannot be re-activated because its been de-activated for too long (either that or they just don't want to here in Canada). The company that markets them is now selling a security system called LoJack which they claim is better and has its own power source. They are recommending I bring the car in, remove the de-activated Boomerang, and install the LoJack. I am concerned about removing and re-installing panels, etc... which may cause annoying sounds and rattles, as the car feels and sounds so tight now. Any advice?
Clyde- The factory alarm system works so well, even the owners have a hard time stealing their own cars at times. LoJack is a very good system, but are you sure you really need it?
Has ANYONE ever heard of a 456/550/575 being driven off without the fob? (towed, I could understand).
Ok guys you've convinced me, I'll leave the LoJack off the 575, it's not required by the insurance even though they do offer a discount to my rate if I install it. I'm more worried about improper installation though that might cause annoying rattles in the car.
