Anyone familiar with #4863?
According to Joe's Bible it's RHD and was Bianco/ Pelle Nera when built. It was seen around 2000 with some SV mods. Is it by any chance the orange car in Harry's video? Probably not as Joe thinks that may be 4527. See 1.36. No. The car in Harry's video is indeed 4527, a genuine SV finished on the 10th of May 1972. It exists today in its original color, "Giallo Miura". The only reason it carries a typically P400S chassis number is because it was built using the chassis number of an earlier Miura. As much-discussed in this thread previously, the use of earlier chassis numbers was done to assist an owner return a new & later variant to their homeland without also incurring new taxes. This was a result of either replacing an earlier variant crashed vehicle with the new variant, or simply a desire to acquire the new variant in exchange for the old one.
I guess the question being asked by a number of people, myself & Bruno included, regarding the misspelled chassis ID plate, remains to be answered: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142533236-post11924.html http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142533978-post11925.html
All that is know of 4863 is what you stated other than a very few more little details. I was hoping someone may know more...
Thanks, Joe. I do find it hard to get my head around what happened to the original 4527 if it was an exchange. If a conversion it does not have the right to wear the SV badge in my opinion. Can I ask where the info comes from that it's a genuine SV finished on the 10th of May, 1972? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/lamborghinichat-com-sponsored-lamborghini-houston/131246-miura-original-supercar-583.html
That Factory hand-typed production register assembled by the Secretary to the production period Sales Manager. The car is actually listed within the sequence of SV production cars too. Hope that helps.
Lamborghini : Other MIURA P 400 in Lamborghini | eBay Motors Have seen this on Ebay many times now, whats the deal besides asking a pretty high number?? Another"factory" restoration. Obviously I have no affiliation.
Just saw this on Facebook. Not sure if its a repost or not.... Ex-Rod Stewart '72 Miura SV for sale: http://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/lamborghini/miura/1972/192522 Mike
Thanks Steven. I was going to say that by my reckning, Rod Stewrt ownd at least three (3) Miuras, the Miura S and the Miura SV in the UK, and the Miura SV in the USA.
I think it may have been 5, Joe. The 2 in the b&w pic. The one on the left is a LHD P400 which was his first I think, the S with registration JLL 831K also in the pic plus the yellow SV 4818. He may have owned 2 SVs in the US as well, a silver and a black one. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rod may also have owned another P400S which was on the UK plate JLL 833K, unless I'm confusing it with JLL 831K in the pic. It was for sale in 1976 by the same vendor when my father bought his SV 4830. It was in red with 4 non standard exhaust tail pipes. We were told it had been Rod Stewart's. My father wanted to buy that as it was £5,500. I spent hours persuading him to buy the SV (allegedly ex Elton John) instead. Asking price was £8,500. We got it for £7,750.
Speaking of all things rawk ' roll, anyone have any photos of Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi with his light blue Miura? There's one photo of it in his autobiography but it's the only one I've seen.
