Probably get flamed for this, but I grew up with Lamborghini posters on my wall. My dream cars would be the Countach or Diablo. After looking into their reliability and quirks, I decided it's better to leave them as dream cars, rather than experience ownership. Maybe when I retire and have the time and a personal workshop to look after one, I'll consider it. I'm not a fan of the modern Lambos.

Once I got into car ownership, only one dream car marque remained. Ferrari gives you the supercar experience with practicality. The interiors are exquisite and they have all the mod cons you could want. You can truly use them as daily drivers, yet they command such road presence and most importantly, they have soul and character.

I do a really fun golf thing every year where we drive on the country club lawn. Love to see you come down for that one. Be spring before I do it again. Great fun with a great group of guys. I'd love to see our 612's next to each other.

    It was really touching.

Thanks guys. There's something about this car that makes me wax reflective. ;)

The one thing that delayed my entering this world was a nagging worry that the reality wouldn't live up to my expectations. Reading too many F-Chat maintenance and repair threads I guess. I needn't have worried.
There is something very special about Ferraris. They do have a soul.

I was a kid when the F355 came out back in 1994/95
Could not believe the shape/sound and what it made me feel.
Fast forward to May 2011, I was shopping for my own F355 here in Brasil.
I still have a funny feeling everytime I remove her cover, and drive it away.

Blue TDF&light grey interior, '99 6 SPD, de-catted challenge exhaust, shields & rear ch grill.

Yup, I had the same Countach poster on my wall-also had a 959 Pcar. My parents were teachers so I would have taken any car that ran-so why not go all the way! It was the late 80s and thinking back it always seemed there was some car that was always at least a little faster than what Fcar was putting out-just like today with Bugatti, etc-but the Ferrari offering was always right there and it still is. Build quality, performance, racing history/dominance/etc you get more with Ferrari and the guys behind the gate know it. Of course I still want to track a 959.

    That it is.

Most folks don't get it though.

Same here. I bought 2 posters, Countach and 275 GTB-4, 25 years ago. I hung them side by side and then I took down the Lambo poster few years after that and keeping the 275 till today. for Lambo as the new model came out, the old one suddenly look very old. While for Ferrari, as the new model arrive the old one still look charming.

I guess this is why I believe that Ferrari is selling a dream. You can never get enough...always keep wanting more :)

I made that same promise to a 13 year old boy who had his nose pressed to the window of Algar in 1970. Someday kid you will have on of your very own. Someday.
