250 GTE ...HOW MANY REMAIN ?

I've seen one of these in person and can attest, hands down, the most beautiful car I've ever seen.
Carlo had it in his shop at Alfa Romeo of Tacoma a few years back.

The car pictured is a 250 GT Lusso, chassis # 4481, not a 250 GTE 2+2.
Still beautiful though.

Hello Gentlemen , I will be much more expansive in future but (as I have let Tom know) 2837 is back in circulation. Currently being re-commisioned at Foskers, Brands Hatch UK.
I bought her in Prague, greatly assisted by Paul Baber the originator of this thread, history uncovered by Marcel Massini.
So another GTE, intact and back on the road.

A friend owned 2267GT for 10 or so years. He sold it to a dealer in Mexico City, i believe in the 80s. I don't see it on any of the lists in this thread. Does anyone know where it might be?

 

I believe your friend was from Virginia and he sold it to a car dealer in Mexico City in 2002. It was listed on eBay with the warning "THIS IS A RESTORATION PROJECT"! Have not heard what happened after that.

The GTE Register does not have any photos of this car. Might your friend have some for me?

 

Yes. He lives in Richmond, VA. I really had the date wrong. I will ask him if he has any photos. Thanks for the response.

 

Very pleased to be able to log in for the first time to say that I have 4139 undergoing a full nut and bolt restoration.
The car had been dismantled by an engineer in California some 30 years ago. He had intended to restore it, but never got round to it.
The work is due to be completed next spring.

The ex light Blue 250GTE now is the dark Blue is sn#2865. The car lives in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais State.

The rebodied GTO by Fossil Motorsports plate FGT0250 is sn #2883.
The rebodied TR58 Ponton Fender is sn #877 an ex Ellena Coupé.
Both #2883 and #877 are in a collection in the countryside of São Paulo State.

I have visited SH's collection, it's very nice although I heard he is thinking of selling some of the cars. If I'm not mistaken he also owns a 365 GT 2+2.

This car is on EBay right now (2267GT), fresh back from Mexico, or still there for all I can get out of the seller. Nice looking partial restoration, but some loose ends in the presentation to say the least. Bids are flying in any case

Correct. Leonardo Huerta is the seller. Car has had cosmetic work completed in Mexico and is available for inspection now in Laredo TX.
