According to Ross Brawn and Williams as well, Rubens is a very good development driver. He'd be an asset to many teams next season.
Only for one race... Hmm. I can see it happening but see no benefit to it. He hasn't raced F1 since 2011, 2 seasons out of the seat is a lot IMO.
Well, Raikkonnen did well. Although it´s true that Barrichello was already looking too old for F1 when he left, so probably not a great idea if there´s not any $$$ issue involved. Yet, Sauber made a similar decision a few years ago when they unexpectedly hired De La Rosa.
Good point re Kimi, but then he had testing and got to know the car before the first race a little. Fisichella to Ferrari in 2009 didn't go well. He went from finishing 2nd to Ferrari...and barely getting points (if he got any?). I think they're doing well now? Didn't a bunch of Russians throw some money at them, and even more when the kid gets signed?
He did not get any point for the Scuderia in five races. Just before switching to the Scuderia from Force India, to replace Badoer, he led the belgian Grand Prix with his Force India, but was outsmarted by one Kimi Räikkönen due to intelligent use of the KERS of the Ferrari. Rgds
I watch Ruben race in Long Beach Grand Prix and he did not do very good. What makes him think he"ll do better back in F1?
