Just be careful of the wildlife that may wonder up onto the road. At high speeds they could make for an unpleasant ride.

Come by the F/chat party on Saturday Night 6-9pm at the Iron Cactus North. There are details in the Rossa and Silver subscribed sections. It is on a main north / south Freeway Mopac, and you could get south to Trento in 15 -20 minutes.

F&$K NO, I'm not staying around for the concert!! Pitbull?? REALLY?! That guy has destroyed any EDM song he has touched with his sorry "lyrics". They couldn't have gotten someone better like Empire of the Sun?

Well I didn't like him at first...but - his songs are catchy, and women love his music.
    It will be popular

Will there be shuttles for the USGP this year? First Vance found this:

    https://www.facebook.com/FoF1ATX/posts/718033318211216

Then just a few minutes ago John Maher & the Statesman released this article about roads with the following quote from COTA spokeswoman Julie Loignon:

Look at the Official website of COTA.

    Circuit of The Americas Experiences

    Off-Site Parking

For the FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX™, COTA is providing a free Fan Shuttle for ticket holders who do not choose to buy on-site parking. The recommended transportation to COTA is by the official shuttle bus network operated by COTA in partnership with the City of Austin, Travis County, and Capital Metro. The park-and-ride shuttle locations are:

Waterloo Park : The corner of 15th Street and Trinity Street in downtown Austin
The Travis County Exposition Center : 7311 Decker Lane, Austin TX

Can any of the locals let us know what the parking is like at these locations?

Also any word on when a schedule will be posted? or what the support races will be? Will there be support races even? We're 4 weeks to race day (almost), and there seems to be a distinct lack of info coming out of COTA, is this normal for F1 races? It hasn't been for the champ car races I've been to...

I know everything will work out, but man it's hard to travel cheap without planning in advance....

I'm bummed about the lack of clarity regarding the shuttle situation as it has a big impact on my planning. COTA is still playing in the amateur league.

Algar Ferrari of Philadelphia still has rooms available in our room block at the W Hotel in downtown Austin. Please call Tracy at (610) 527-1100 if you have any questions!

I have 2 tickets in Turn 12 in the Ferrari Club section for sale at face value, along with 2 nights at the Red Roof Inn in Round Rock (cheap). Had 2 of my group of 5 have to bail, and trying to help them sell their tickets.

Send me an e-mail if you have interest.

So I have a GA ticket. How difficult is it to get a spot at turn 1?

Last year it would have been relatively easy to get a good spot in GA. I'm not so sure about this year.

    1. The Turn 15 GA area has been replaced with seats.

    2. A lot of people avoided last year because of concerns over traffic, lack of hotels, etc.

    3. I think a lot of people will take advantage of the (relatively) reasonably priced Sunday only tickets this year.

I expect that there will be larger attendance this year due to #2 and #3, but less GA spots due to #1. I would recommend getting to the track as early as possible to stake out a spot. Maybe buddy up with someone to watch your space as you walk around to shop...
