I had mentioned that Amazon The Book of the Ferrari 288 GTO: Joe Sackey: 9781845842734: Amazon.com: Books was the best way of getting the book, but Veloce reminds me that the book can also be purchased direct through them: Veloce Publishing -- The Publisher of Fine Automotive Books Type in "288 GTO" at the Book Search.

Interesting to note that as the cars in the top pic circulated Fiorano in 1984, they were roughly the same price. Look at them today...

I've ordered it from both so we'll see which arrives first:)

    What's the next book Joe?

If you move on a decade each time, the F50?

CH 250161 (from Chieti, Italy) = #55167. The first owner was Rodolfo Testa of Chieti who had it registered as a "308 GTSi", probably for tax reasons.
This car was reported stolen in March 1989 and later re-appeared again.

He might as well have gone the whole hog and registered it as a 208 ;)

    Great story, thanks.

Just ordered Joe's Book on Amazon, I cannot wait considering the excellence of his Miura Book. Mr. Sackey you owe me a Autograph.

    +1

I also let them know a while back when it popped on the market, but I think they ignored me.

Thanks, Joe! (It was bothering me.)

As we are all enjoying the movie Rush, here is a current image of a car that belongs to a gentleman client of mine, the one-and-only 58329.

    What a shape!

Looking forward to seeing a package from Amazon in the mailbox. Ordered a long, long time ago.

Joe, any idea if/when Amazon will ship their copies?

    This is the latest. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142592333-post7424.html

The book is being printed as we speak. I'm guessing Amazon will be shipping mid-to-late this month, if all goes well.

The book itself was a long time in the making, 5 years or so. I think you'll like it and feel it was worth the wait.

Saw the photos last page and very much looking forward to getting my copy.

My 1st memory of the GTO was when Autoweek dropped through the mail slot in early spring 1984 with a mug shot of the car. I was 14.

Update from Amazon today: books should be released Dec. 1st. Hopefully in time for a Christmas present to myself.

Books will be printed & stocked before then. I guess that's their date for availability & supply.
