I don't about you guys , my Ferrari experience has been excellent so far. F430 and 430 Scuderia combined 18 k miles in 2 years and ZERO issues. All hard driving! I had many quality issues with Porsche's of all kinds (turbo GT3 etc..).

Like many have said before all of Mayors issues are not uniquely Ferrari issue ...its basically all exotic cars. So vintage maybe the best way for you..good air cooled 911 and Alfa sounds good.

Never experienced anything youve described. No issues with cops, homeless people, seat wear, or high insurance. Adios.

    Mayor,

Whatever you do .... don't trade your ferrari passions for boat passions. Boats are higher maintenance and bigger problems that most ferraris. Only positive is that you don't have to worry about the homeless people rowing up to your yacht. My advice on a replacement exotic car: Ford GT. Good luck.

I've been where TheMayor is now so I know how he feels. However, I have learned to let it all go and it is the most free you can ever feel. Panhandlers, cops, high prices, insurance rates, build issues and a dozen other things he didn't even have time to mention .......... bring it on, I couldn't give a _____.

Life is way, way too short to concern yourself with the small change. Once you realize you need to let it roll off your back and not sweat the details, you just enjoy life, period.

Which is to say if a Ferrari no longer makes you happy, then drive whatever does, but don't sit around and grouse about it.

As Oddball used to admonish, "Always with the negative waves Moriarity"!

One of the many reasons I love Ferrari-
They don't give a S**t about anything but racing, including what their customers think. Remember what Enzo told his good customer Mr. Lamborghini???

That said I do think the cars have become too tech laden. I'd get a striped down Challenge/Special/Scud if buying newer.

As I said to Andrew (Amenasce),either vintage or a track toy might do it for me.
....after I clear all the mess I'm in of course.....

Funny, it seems to me that the 458 is extremely high quality compared to previous cars. Maybe I've just been driving good ones.

What will be interesting is how it holds up over the years.

I don't know you and you are very experienced at the Ferrari ownership compared to me(8 months). Sorry to read your post and hope you reconsider. For me its been great--used 430 with no issues. Come on back!

True story. The very first day I had my first Ferrari -- a 355 spyder -- I am driving it home form Steve Ahlgrim's place (Steve picked up the car for me).

As I am stopped at a traffic light, I see this hot brunette standing at my passenger door, asking me "how do you open this thing?" She was literally about to jump over the door into the passenger seat, when I opened the door.

Turns out, she was in the car with 4 girls behind me and jumped out a the light to get a ride. Two of the girls were hot. One was OK and the other one, not so much.

Girls always wanted a ride. Yeah, that got old. I think I will buy a Prius and see how often it happens, now.

You just said "adios" to TheMayor based upon him having an issue with Ferrari? One of the more valued members here.
What is wrong with people here? He didn't say he was fed up with FChat...he said he was fed up with Ferrari.

    How about "adios" to you.

TheMayor, say it ain't so! I've always enjoyed your posts and your point of view. I thought you would be the last to say goodbye to Ferrari. You've had many great cars. I've always been a Porsche guy and only got my first 360 about 4 yrs ago. Let me say that once you've come to this side, you can't go back. I suspect you'll get something else for a while and then come back. While we probably all agree with many of your gripes, through my experience, owning and driving one is soooo satisfying, you overlook the other things.

I hope you stay with fchat and good luck on your next car!

Anyone who has met Bob in person, knows he is truly a great guy. One of the better people to meet and just speak with or have a drink with.

Mr. Mayor, as you can tell many on here understand why you are tired of the F-car drama. But I think all of us [except for one crank] hope and urge you to stay active on F-chat!
As others have said, there are many things to stir the passion, so cant wait to hear about the C7, or your next mecahnical fantasy!

Did you even read what I wrote in response to other poster?
    Apparently not Horatio.
I was defending Bob, not that he needs defending.
