They ate in my hometown, Allendale at Allendale Eats - great for breakfast and lunch. They had a visit with Mahwah PD I believe on 17 north near stateline diner. I got a report on the Miura being in the train parking lot, but no chance to get there before they left.

Probably lap belts only in a 1969 car. Although shoulder belts for front seat passengers started to appear around 1968, they were not mandated until maybe 1973.

That stretch of Rt. 17 North is a permanent speed trap. Between the Ramsey and Mahwah police, those towns rake in a mint on speeders. I would never wind out a car on 17. Just too many cops there all the time.

Think possibly it was staged? ;)

I would think a cop who pulled over a car like that and saw Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfield in it would react a bit differently no?

When my Espada broke down on 80 near Rockaway and I called the NJ State Troopers to get a tow because AAA was so f****d up there were Troopers who told me they came by just to look at the Lamborghini so if it had those two in it to boot ...

He just taped an episode with Howard Stern. I'm sure it will be great. The show is hysterical.

Any guesses as to which car he'll pick for Stern?

Great question...maybe a muscle car, even though Howard can be a car nerd.

That's a long, torturous, traffic infesedt ways from Alpine and Rt 9.
I wonder how they ended up there?
Maybe they knew they wouldn't get mobbed (no pun intended ...) at that place?

The closest I get is Allendale Bar and Grill. Got a client right near there.

A: Allendale Eats is right off of Rt. 17. After lunch they could have taken the long way home. 17N to 287E to the Palisades back to Alpine.

Yes but why there? I can think of a lot places way better but farther to go with terrific scenery, roads and a nice atmosphere. Must have been a special arrangement deal with the restaurant for security purposes?

I don't think so. I think he'd have made a driver side approach were it staged, and his positioning behind the B pillar as opposed to a relaxed windowside position suggests his guard was up. Don't think he'd have gone through those motions knowing he was being filmed approaching celebrity comics. Also, he didn't sound like a non-actor trying to 'act natural' under the lense.

Really? I've never seen a cop approach me or anyone else from the passenger side when their car was stopped. They didn't really have all that much in the segment about this so I don't know. Just wondered.

Tends to be a Jersey thing; NJSP and many NJ depts. do passenger side approaches. I was also stopped in that area on 17 in the 328 and the officer came up on the passenger side.

Well I've only been here 15 years so perhaps I've just missed this.
Got stopped by a female State Trooper in my Espada a couple years ago.
She came up on the drivers side. So maybe females do it differently ...
Then again she was a lesbian ...
