Wow what a nice prize for such a young loaded, connected, and financed by Russian money driver. Never in a million years would that have been possible on talent alone

And it makes a wrong assumption: that he is as I talented in F1 as in lower formulae That's not always the case. MS was average in karts and smaller formulae and changed once he got into F1 Not saying Sirotkin is great but let's first see how he does
Doesn't make for very pretty reading. However, I kind of feel for the kid - Remember he's only 17! Give him a few years in the juniors to develop some and he may be OK. Should he be popped into the seat next year I suspect he won't last long, which may be a bigger problem for Sauber than him if the Russians pull the plug when he fails. Cheers, Ian
Monisha Kaltenborn was openly seen between a rock and a hard place. She almost lost her entire team due to financial trouble, so she signed a deal with a Russian financial group that wanted her head on a chopping block and their boy to drive for the team. No other option was available to her, and she took the deal. Whew! That's not the way to do business, but she knows how to survive.
Looks like we can scratch the name Sirotkin again from our collective memories: Millionen-Wirbel: Ist der Sirotkin-Deal bei Sauber geplatzt? ? Formel 1 ? Blick The deal seems to be off and no more payments arrived. However Sauber might be getting Russian money after all but possibly no driver obligation with it. At that point his current two drivers would keep their seats.
Petrov is in talks with them tnx to Gazprom's money which officially proves that God has a weird sense of humour too.
