    Hello all,
It's been too long since I visited you all here. Hope you all have been well. The Bora has been exercised a good bit this summer, despite my being called away for the last month.

I offer the following YouTube clip for your enjoyment.

So you thought, why not take a nice summer drive...

so 15 minutes of driving ended up being 100 hours of video editing and video post processing? :D

    Great commentary. Thanks for sharing.

    PS:
Is you steering wheel ok? It seems like you need to keep it 45 degrees to the left in order to go straight.

Great video, looked like a perfect day for a drive!

But I couldn't stop staring at the steering wheel being off like that and waiting for it to come back to level with the bars flat across and the third pointing down :D

Thanks guys - sorry about the visually distracting steering wheel position, but glad you enjoyed the driving part.

..it's my own mistake following a rebuild of the steering column switch cluster. I had the steering wheel off and it didn't get the correct orientation putting it back on the splines. I didn't even eyeball it (I'm used to old Chrysler products with an alignment spline so you can't go wrong..).

You touch on a good point though -

The footage is always "old" by the time I get around to editing it into a clip. So, I always forget what condition the car was in. There's always more work done since the taping - (speedo is now functional, country/city horns are sorted out, timing chains are now adjusted... still haven't bled the hydraulic system successfully). So sometimes I think I should toss the footage and start fresh because the Bora looks like shabby. My strategy has been to acknowledge the shortcomings in the subtitles and offer it as "interesting side story".

But I totally missed the steering wheel being off! Doh!

    Best,

Don't be embarrassed about the steering wheel. Take a look at about 13:20 in the Jay Leno's Garage segment on the Khamsin. Surely the finger grips are not supposed to face the driver - this one must have the steering wheel flipped. If the folks at a major museum can miss something like this, we amateurs are surely allowed the occasional oversight!

What seems to be be giving you issues with the brake bleed?
I don't have the roadrunner city beep beep horns on my car.

    Hi Bob et al,
Thanks for the humor about the steering wheel. I straightened it yesterday between bouts of coughing - struggling with a mild cold.

My brake bleeding attempts went this way:
    - Open bleeder nipple and attach overflow tube to a catchment bottle.
    - Have my 10 year old son gently depress the brake pedal.
    - Wait for the brake fluid to flow.
    - Foamed fluid ensued***
    - Close the bleeder nipple.
    - Tell my son to lift his foot off the pedal.
    - Keep after the LHM level in the reservoir, the loss of which was negligible.

***The problem came when each attempt ended with foamed fluid coming out of the brake cylinder.

There is going to be a little hiatus while Wills Imports rebuilds the headlight cylinders. Not possible to bleed the LHM again until they're back and reinstalled.

Anyway - I'm off to see Dave Burnham Citroen this morning ... and get some fresh HD footage from my GTV6 ... fun stuff!

    Cheers,
