I was hoping that he'd put those insecurities behind him. Perhaps the experience with Lewis at McLaren left scars deeper than I thought.

There's many things Alonso is or has: fantastic driver, great development driver, great spacial awareness/racecraft.

Being a respectable human being (as evidenced by his public actions over the years) is not one of them.

 

This really seems like FA's standard tricks (such as this) plays into the hands of KR. The best thing you can do is motivate him by this type of challenge. Also I feel that sometimes FA tells to the press what HE needs to believe in order to manage himself. This might be a bit of both.

Why is everybody overreacting?

If you read the whole article vs just pulling out a single line out of context, he simply goes onto praising Massa (as he should for a longtime and still teammate) and also outlines how together with Kimi they will be able to motivate and elevate the team, as well as bring home more points next season.

Some of the comments in here are getting more and more stupider. I'm marking all of them, and when next season happens I'm going to call out your stupidity.

What did he say that wasn't true? Kimi wasn't that much quicker if he was even quicker at all than Massa was when they were teammates. Alonso will take Kimi. Probably pretty handily.

 

I'am sure Luca knew what he was dealing with from the get-go.

It would surprise no one if it ended in tears again.

 

Am not so sure, whatever the case it has to be better than what went before.
