Does anyone know where I might start to search for a used or new 308 GTS engine block? My car is a 1978 U.S. Model. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Tom [email protected] Ps. I'm not good at checking back here on FChat for a response, so please email me at [email protected]
If youare looking to rebuild your current engine, you might want to look into buying another running 308 and selll the current one. At $10-$15k for a rebuild and reinstall you would be ahead of the game to buy another car. If you are looking for just a block for art/deco/other purpose try soem of the ferrari salvage places you can find in a google search. T rutlands specialized italian recycling forza motorsports
It's funny cause I actually know where one is right now that the owner would let go for CCCHHHHEEEEEPPPP!!! You might even haggle him down to next to nothing just so his wife would shut up about the thing. But lord knows I'm not going to email him if he is too lazy to look at his own thread.
maybe it's me but I don't think the 308 block would look all that great as one, now the TR block, that gets my vote!. I've got loads of 308pistons and rods laying around, couple cranks too, I've thought of taking and assembling them sans block and using that as coffee table base, flat crank on the ground pistons holding the top. problem is, it's far heavier then the block bare.
Werent the blocks all pretty much the same - the difference being the intake manifolds and heads?? I am sure there is something I missed there, but thats the idea right?? PDG
Nope...wet sump vs. dry sump. QVs vs 2 valve, etc. Good luck to the OP. What year s the one you cite, Dr. S??
Yes. Why would I make up something like this for a fellow member that does not even bother to check his posts?
