Go see the c7 in person....it's a nice sportscar that is extremely capable and inexpensive to run.

After 3 corvettes..and over 150 k miles total...the corvettes are really a change the oil and tires and go kind of ownership experience. Everything is so inexpensive to run...I use mine in the northeast every time.

I smile every where I go. An amazing addition to anyone's sports car dream.

Fast handles great, great gas mileage, low cost of ownership, inexpensive to own and the c7 has resolved any interior issues of the past.

The Alfa 4c is cool but who knows if it will ever arrive...the c7 would be a smart move. Imo

The first one I saw in person was at the 12 Hours of Sebring earlier this year. I'm currently in Naples, FL and have already spotted to local cars out on the road. One red with black wheels and one black with black wheels. I'm told another resident has a white one they've been driving around. There are three more sitting at the dealership waiting to be picked up. I'm sure several more will show up as people come down for the winter.

Even from far away there is no mistaking it for anything other than a Corvette. Fantastic car for the price and I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I could. I think it won't be long until they're a pretty common sight on the road.

    Naples,Fl = GM executive retirement ghetto 😉
You'll be seeing plenty of C7's in that part of FL.

I spotted one on Highway 80 near Dallas on Friday of last week.
Looked fantastic in black moving briskly in the opposite direction of me.

    Beautiful car in the flesh.

I have to say that I'm very excited about this car. I may never even own one, but just the fact that it exists and that it's American makes me happy.

Proves Clarkson's point about how it's amazing that the Corvette is such a good car "built by a fat bloke in Kentucky!!"

The cheap box fans hanging along the line definitely look out of place.

Now you know why McLaren's and Ferrari's are so expensive --- no box fans. :)

I just got notified by my dealer that my C7 will be built shortly. I had to finish some of the specs.

It seems like forever since I started this thread but it is close :)

Saw my fourth one today in Naples. This time I was driving through an intersection and glanced over and saw a beautiful silver car. The way it sat so low from a profile I thought it might have been an F12 ( haven't seen one in person yet ). I was going by fast but I don't think it had that black vent thing on the side as it looked all silver and showed just the shape. I may have missed it but it surly didn't stick out like it does on the other cars which is why I thought it was an F12 at first. It just didn't have that C7 profile. Confirmed it as I passed by. It was by far the best looking of the four I've seen this week. First one without black wheels as well. Not that it matters but I'd say the driver was at least in his 70s :)

Test drove the new C7 today and I must say that they did a wonderful job. All around it is a huge improvement over the C6 and for $57k it's provides a tremendous value.

Even the rear taillights look better in person and the upgraded technology really shows throughout the car.

Howeve here is what I found most interesting. In speaking with the sales manager he mentioned some very telling comments.

He knows I am a Ferrari guy so I guess he felt more open in speaking to me.

Essentially he said "Listen, we are going to sell a ton of these. Before you know it the NEW corvette will be everywhere. Two years from now it will no longer be the NEW corvette and will simply be A corvette. These cars will then sell for a little over half their msrp and will all have 25-30k miles on them. Then to keep sales going a new Z07 model will come out. Then after that maybe a ZR1. Then after that we won't be able to give these things away and huge discounts will drive the market and crush the used car values."

Bottom Line: Two years from now this car will just be a corvette and two years from now every 2014 Ferrari will still be a FERRARI! Maybe you lose some on trade in but no Ferrari will drop 50% in 2-years.

So before everyone gets crazy about the NEW corvette, remembers its just A corvette.

Surely none of this is news, this is the playbook on a new model and its subsequent evolution and the predictable depreciation curve. Hardly something to hold against the new Vette.

Only the 7th Gen over a 60 year history does mean a new Vette is a little special for those first few years. : )

Maybe. My 2008 is worth 40-ish and I paid I think 70-ish for it. Less than 10% a year. What did a 2008 Scud do over the same interval?
